Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 185 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and under-developed. While you state your position clearly, the supporting points—such as the claim about mosquitoes or the view from tall buildings—are not relevant to the core issue of urban housing density. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more logical reasoning and concrete examples, ensuring that every point directly addresses the prompt's focus on urban planning and housing solutions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is insufficient, with the introduction and body paragraphs merged or poorly delineated. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices like 'the second reason is', the flow between sentences is often disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of logical transitions. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'construction of home... have become risen' and 'raw houses'. The use of 'tenaments' is misspelled, and the phrasing 'mosquitoes can not reach that too much height' is unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and improving your control over word forms. Avoid informal or irrelevant vocabulary and aim for more sophisticated collocations related to urban development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the number of factories has increasingly'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'In large cities are flooded with crowd and heavy traffic in order to build tall apartments is one of the solution'. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures. To improve, practice using a wider range of complex sentence forms, such as relative clauses and conditional structures, while ensuring subject-verb agreement and correct punctuation.
