Student answer (Band 5.5)
One of the efficient way to deliver homes in large cities is to construct large apartment blocks for the people. As apartment block can accommodate hundred of homes in it. In a huge metropolitan city, it is very challenging to find a cheap and luxury place to live.
Living in high rising apartment buildings is very common in these days. People rent a cheaper accommodation to live in city center. I suggest to have an apartment in a large building in the middle of the city to stay close to every facility.
Providing enough homes in a huge apartment building is the most favourable action to save space and cost. This can save half of the cost of a house in metropolitan cities. I agree with this fact due to my personal exposure. For example, I want a place to live in Lahore city, I found a developer who is selling pretty decent apartments in city center. So, I decided to buy an apartment in that tall building.
Living in taller buildings is fascinating, But it can be suffocating as well. We cannot breathe properly in that tiny homes in high rise buildings due to poor air ventilation. We face many problems in living in apartment blocks. It can ruin your privacy and security. It can be deliberately annoying and frustrating in case of faulty lift.
In conclusion, there are more benefits of living in apartment block can accommodate hundred of homes in it. Because it provides you a suitable location in a city center to daily commute to your work. It can be easy to find basic facilities nearby you by living in an apartment located in a city center of a metropolitan city. In a rushy life routine you cannot meet with traffic noise on your high rise apartment floor. I agree with the statement of having enough homes in big cities is to construct large apartment buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide some reasons, such as space efficiency and proximity to facilities, the arguments are often repetitive or contradictory. For instance, you mention the benefits of apartment living but then list several drawbacks, such as poor ventilation and privacy issues, without effectively synthesizing these points into a cohesive argument. The conclusion is somewhat confusing as it repeats the initial stance despite the negative points raised in the previous paragraph. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that directly supports your overall position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between and within them is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'Living in taller buildings is fascinating, But it can be suffocating as well.' Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas feels disjointed. For example, the transition from the benefits of living in a city center to the specific problems of faulty lifts lacks a smooth connection. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'big,' 'huge,' and 'place.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'rushy life routine' and 'deliver homes,' which are not natural English expressions. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'metropolitan' and 'developer,' the overall control is insufficient for a higher band. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout your essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'One of the efficient way' (should be 'ways') and 'apartment block can accommodate' (should be 'blocks can'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'Because it provides you a suitable location...'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and sentence fragments. Increasing your control over basic grammar and practicing more complex sentence structures would help improve your score in this area.
