Student answer (Band 6.0)
The better path to provide the enough residences in large cities is to build blocks of tall apartments. I totally agree with this statement and this essay discusses the reasons with suitable example to support my view.
First of all, we all know the urbanisation and overpopulation are the major problems in big cities that leads to serious competition for host, food and other valuable resources required for life. Without planned development, it is not possible to manage the cities facing the problems of over-crowded population. So, planned socities are essential for residences or homes for the population of large cities. Unlike villages, where families living in larger houses, tall buildings or towers are built in large cities to manage their population housing.
For better understanding, let me share an example of kareem residential tower located in Lahore, Pakistan. Kareem tower has occupied an area of 3 kanals only and providing the residence to over 65 families. Anyone can understand the value of planned tall apartment as it save the land which is very important in larger cities. In these apartments, people have proper facilites like air conditioning, internet, water supplies, food markets and everything necessary for life. Hence, this development is very crucial in order to manage the larger population in cities.
In conclusion, planned urban socities and large residential buidlings / towers plays an important role to provide homes to large polulation in big cities. Otherwise over-crowding everywhere in large cities with unplanned houses, streets, and poor sanitation problems will be seen everywhere. So, I am standing with my view and agree with the given statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, particularly the focus on land efficiency and urban management. However, the development is somewhat limited. While the example of the Kareem residential tower is specific, the argument could be strengthened by discussing potential drawbacks (such as social isolation or infrastructure strain) to provide a more balanced or nuanced perspective, which is expected for higher bands. The conclusion reiterates the position well, but the overall depth of the argument remains at a functional level rather than a fully extended one.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'For better understanding', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing (e.g., 'Unlike villages, where families living in larger houses...'). The use of referencing is generally clear, but the paragraphing could be more sophisticated to better separate the distinct points regarding land management and urban facilities.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'urbanisation', 'overpopulation', and 'residential tower'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'host' instead of 'housing' or 'socities' (spelling error). The range is somewhat limited, relying on common descriptors. To achieve a higher band, the student should focus on more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing like 'large cities' or 'important'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the enough residences' (article/quantifier error), 'families living' (missing auxiliary verb), and 'plays an important role' (subject-verb agreement error with plural subjects). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor issues with sentence construction. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent the response from reaching the 7.0 band, which requires more frequent error-free sentences and better control over complex structures.
