Student answer (Band 5.5)

Trend of building high buildings in mega cities is becopmig popular due to inclining of population in mega cities. It is the needed thing to provide homes to the population.

In support of this my opinion that building tall apartment is necessary to complete needs of people. it is beneficail thing for the era because geographically it take some short place to build a large number of homes. Building tall apartments is also helpful for making a society which is connected to each other. In one building all people know each other furthermore they can supports their building mates peronally, emotionally and in other ways. For instance if a couple who is living far from his family and rent an apartment they don't feel loneliness. They can connect to others easily. Secondly building have more security rather single houses like two security gaurds are enough for whole building. Its finanicailly helpfull like this security cost less than having a personal Security gaurd for home.

Some people argue it is not the safe thing. People in building don't enjoy their lesuire time. Their personal space is intrupted by the others. In buildings flats are conjusted and they have less exposure of sunlight and limited supply of oxygen. Less ventilations in apartments. Constant disruptions in life. If your neighbours are loud its would also decline your peace becuase walls can easily pass the sound. peronal outdoor spacing is less.

In conclusion it can be said that living in building is need of that era so builders should try to make buildings which have proper sources for ventilation and make spaces for gardening so it is helpful to clean air.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on space efficiency, social connectivity, and security. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention social benefits and security, the arguments could be more deeply explored with more specific examples or logical extensions. The counter-argument is introduced, but the rebuttal is brief and lacks depth. To improve, ensure that each main point is fully supported with a clear explanation and a concrete example, rather than just listing benefits.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'furthermore', 'for instance', and 'secondly' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In support of this my opinion that...'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transitions between sentences could be smoother to create a more natural flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be strengthened by better signposting.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'needed thing', 'beneficial thing', and 'safe thing'. There are several spelling errors ('becopmig', 'beneficail', 'peronally', 'gaurds', 'finanicailly', 'conjusted', 'peronal') and word choice issues ('inclining of population', 'pass the sound'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, and pay closer attention to spelling accuracy, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Issues include missing articles ('building have more security'), incorrect verb forms ('if your neighbours are loud its would also decline'), and awkward phrasing ('geographically it take some short place'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction to improve accuracy.
