Student answer (Band 6.0)
An effective way to allocate enough space for every family to live in a developed urban area is to construct apartments. I belive that this trend has both benefits and drowback . It saves space ,but less privacy . Thise type of housing is less expensive than owning an individual house , although there is less space for living .
The first benefit of this type of housing is to save spaces , an apartments allow many families to live in the one building . They are more affordable then buying or renting an individual house in such area ,because the cost of living is higher in such developed area rather than country side . They provide better facilities and security in comparison
to large area where fewer people lives. This approach can also help governments manage limited land resources and accommodate a growing urban population.
On the down side , the fact that are that this type of housing have less privacy ,because the families live close together in order to save space. They have a limited space , no gardens or large rooms . In such type of soceities there are many restrictions and rules about pets, renovations, noise or using common areas. Moreover, apartment buildings can make better use of limited land while providing essential facilities and services to a larger number of residents in cities.
In conclusion ,although living in apartment has some drawbacks, such as limited space and less privacy, I believe that the benefits ,including affordability, better facilities, and efficent use of space ,make them suitable option for developed urban area

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the benefits and drawbacks of tall apartment blocks. You have a clear position, although the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the point about 'saving space' is mentioned in every paragraph, which limits the depth of your argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported idea rather than restating the same points. While you cover the main aspects of the task, the lack of specific examples from your own knowledge or experience makes the argument feel a bit generic. Expanding on how these buildings impact urban planning or social life would help reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'The first benefit', 'On the down side', and 'Moreover'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Some transitions feel a bit forced, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'the fact that are that this type of housing have less privacy'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'urban area', 'land resources', and 'accommodate'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor spelling errors, such as 'drowback' instead of 'drawback' and 'soceities' instead of 'societies'. You also rely on basic vocabulary in places where more precise language would be beneficial. To improve, focus on using more varied and sophisticated collocations and ensure you proofread for spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this type of housing have') and article usage (e.g., 'in the one building'). There are also punctuation errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'the fact that are that this type of housing have'. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
