Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, population and property price is increasing day by day so due to which it is best way to offer enough houses in large metropolitan cities is to develop tall apartment blocks. I am completely agree with this given notion at a large extent which i will explain in forthcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, the inflation of property is increased from recent years and people do not have sufficient amount of money to buy the homes for their families. To elaborate it, in big metropolitan cities regime introducted new infrastructure that is apartment residence for those individuals who want beautifull flats with good facilities like separate playground for childrens and good parking space for public vehicles. Moreover, it is very cheap to afford these apartments since masses do no need to buy property to build house. However, these apartments are also well developed with 10 floors and each floor has 5 residences. Additionally, it is very easy to buy groceries becauses these flats also offer food shop. For example, a survey was conducted buy government that families feel safe in these apartments becuase they have security checkpost to enter their. Thus, there is very negligible chance for theifs to enter these kinds of apartments.

Further more, it also helps people to celebrate different kind of occasions together with apartment society. To explain it, people living in private homes feel lonely sometimes because they have nobody to socialize with. Whilst, in apartments people like to celebrate festivals like lohri, diwali together and capture specials movements. Whereas, usually the transport facilities are also availiable near these apartments like airports and bus stop. As a result, people think it is more practical to buy these flats in budget despite private homes.

In Conclusion, accomodations like apartments offer great facilities and safety in budget for families with good educated society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on affordability, security, and social benefits. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'socializing' is a bit anecdotal and lacks depth. While the position is clear throughout, the response would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning or specific examples beyond general statements. The conclusion is a bit abrupt and does not fully summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task but remains at a basic level of development.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In Conclusion' helps guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'due to which it is best way' and 'Whilst, in apartments'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a more natural progression of ideas. Despite these minor issues, the overall arrangement is coherent and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'inflation of property is increased', 'regime introducted', and 'theifs'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and occasionally uses words incorrectly in context. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or precise lexical items limits the score. To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and more academic terminology related to urban planning and housing, while also paying closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('population and property price is increasing'), article misuse, and awkward sentence construction ('I am completely agree with this given notion at a large extent'). Punctuation is generally functional but inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure is necessary.
