Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowdays, the large cities are over crowded and many people think that tall appartment blocks are good way to provide enough accomodations. I lagrly agree with this trend and i will describe my views in further writing.

The most conspicuous reason why i agree with this idea is that tall apartments blocks are built on small area of land but it provide many accomodations with several amenties. As a result, a large number of families can leave in a single building without any type of population issues. Additionaly, high rise buildings are purposefully rather than in misuse of land and other resources. This means that, the buildings are built systematically by proper funds, facilities and plans.

Moreover, the price of homes in towns are to expensive and a middle class worker cannot buy a home for him or their family. Although, tall apartment blocks provide a proper accommodation with many facilities in resonable price. To vindicate, in large cities like jaipur, many people prefer to buy a appartment in a tall building rather than to buy a expensive home. However, managment of appartment block organise cultural events, celebrate festivals and always help their neighbours in their need. Due to this, this type of apartments have a friendly environment and everybody live like a family.

To encapsulate, i deem that the idea of tall apartments blocks in large cities is benificial for humans as well as nature because it provide accommodation at cheaper prices with every basic needs of human beings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding land efficiency and affordability are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of Jaipur. However, the development is somewhat limited; the argument about social benefits (cultural events) is a bit tangential to the core issue of providing housing. To reach a higher band, you should focus more on the urban planning and economic implications of high-rise living rather than the social dynamics of the residents. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall development of ideas remains at a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use cohesive devices such as 'The most conspicuous reason', 'Moreover', and 'To encapsulate' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing or minor grammatical errors. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the idea of 'purposeful buildings' and 'proper funds' is slightly underdeveloped, making the progression of thought feel a bit disjointed in the second paragraph.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'conspicuous', 'amenities', and 'vindicate'. However, there are several spelling errors ('Nowdays', 'appartment', 'accomodations', 'resonable', 'managment') and word choice inaccuracies ('purposefully rather than in misuse of land'). These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic words and ensuring that your collocations are natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors in subject-verb agreement or article usage (e.g., 'the buildings are built systematically by proper funds', 'a appartment'). There are also persistent issues with pluralization and basic punctuation. While these errors rarely impede communication, they occur frequently throughout the text. To achieve a higher band, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as the use of 'a' versus 'an' and correct verb forms.
