Student answer (Band 5.5)
THE BEST WAY TO PROVIDE ENOUGH HOMES IN LARGE CITIES IS TO BUILD TALL APARTMENTS.
IT IS OFTEN ARGUED THAT TALL APARTMENTS ARE BEST OPTION IN LARGE CITIES. I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS OPINION AND THIS ESSAY WILL EXPLAIN THE REASON WITH EVIDENCE WHY I AM KEEN ON THIS ARGUMENT.
TO BEGIN WITH, ON OF THE MAIN REASON WHY I SUPPORT THIS TALL APARTMENT BLOCK ARE BEST FOR CITIES. MOST OF THE URBAN ARES DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR BUILD PERSONAL HOUSES. THIS MEANS THAT CITIES ARE WELL ESTABLISHED AREA FOR ALL THE FAMOUS SERVICES SUCH AS HOSPITAL, SCHOOL AND OFFICE'S ARE AVAILABLE FOR FINE RANGES SO MOST OF THE LAND SELLERS ARE IN CITIES THEY EXPECTED HIGH PRICE FOR EVEN SMALL LANDS. THAT'S WHY ALL INDIVIDUALS CAN NOT AFFORD OWN LANDS. FOR INSTANCE, CITIES ARE MOSTLY FOCUS ON BUSINESS LANDS SO THE LAND FOR INHABITANTS ARE THERE LESS. IN BUSINESS WORD ''WHICH IS IN LESS QUANTITY THERE HAVE HIGH DEMAND'' SO ALL THE PERSON CANT AFFORD LANDS. HOWEVER TALL BUILD APARTMENTS PROVIDE MORE SPACE IN SMALL LANDS SO THIS TIME PEOPLE CAN AFFORD THEIR PLACE IN CITIES AS WELL.
ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT REASON FOR SUPPORT HIGH BUILDING APARTMENTS IS THAT HELP TO PEOPLE SOCIALIST EASILY BECAUSE MOST OF THE TIMES PEOPLE IN CITIES ARE MIGRANT FROM VILLAGES. SO THE HIGH APARTMENT HABITAT ARE BECOME FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS EASILY BECAUSE EVERY DAY THEY WANT FACE EACH OTHERS. FOR EXAMPLE, SOME OF URBANITE ARE NEWLY IMMIGRANTS SO THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO ACCESS SERVICES, AT THE TIME PEOPLE WHO LONG RUN IN THE APARTMENT HELP THEM SO THE NEW GUY IN THE TOWN EASILY AFFORD THAT AND THEY MANAGE THEM GIVEN TAKEN POLICY AS WELL.
IN CONCLUSION, I COMPLETELY AGREE THIS TALL BUILDING APARTMENTS ARE BEST WAY TO PROVIDE ENOUGH HOME IN CITIES. THIS OPTION HELP PEOPLE AFFORD THE HOME IN CITIES AND EASILY MAKE THEM SOCIALISED.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding land scarcity and social interaction are relevant to the topic. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about socialisation is a bit vague and lacks a strong logical link to the necessity of tall buildings. The explanation of land economics is repetitive and could be more clearly articulated. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and ensure that each point directly supports your central thesis with greater clarity and depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with', 'Another significant reason', and 'In conclusion', to structure the response. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition 'at the time people who long run in the apartment'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow due to grammatical issues, which occasionally makes the relationship between ideas feel disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the text flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate to convey your meaning, but it is often repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'land sellers', 'business lands', and 'given taken policy' are either non-standard or awkward in this context. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'socialist' instead of 'socialise' and 'urbanite' used as a plural noun. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is limited. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to urban planning and housing, and try to avoid repeating the same basic words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('tall apartment block are best'), article usage ('the land for inhabitants are there less'), and incorrect word forms ('high building apartments'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
