Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is irrefutable that the trend of establishment of tall apartment blocks to provide enough homes in large cities has become a matter of great debate among people around the world . Therefore, tall buildings are pritorize by many people as the best possible way provide enough houses to people .

I agree with the given assertion that the best way to provide enough place to live to individuals in metropolotian cities is to establish tall buildings . The first and foremost reason is that in large citites there are less space to live and higher population beacause of high demand of labour and other facilities . Since large has less space because of high demand , it is good to install tall buildings to live . Certainly, it saves lots of space and more people can live in one building. Thus, establishment of tall buildings in busy cities to provide enough homes is the best way .

Another considerable benefit is that, it creates a positive harmony amony people . for instance, people living in same building knows each other and they become helping in nature not like the introverts who lives in rheir home and never interested in building relationships .

on the contrary, some people who contradict my point of view might argue that living in building is quiet expensive. As the rent here is expensive , it result in pressure in the mind of people .

In conclusion , i would like to reiterate by saying that although living in building is quiet expensive but it creates a personal and positive harmony in the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the argument regarding 'positive harmony' is somewhat superficial and lacks a logical connection to the topic of housing density. The counter-argument is mentioned but not fully explored or refuted effectively. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your claims, rather than relying on general statements. The response is somewhat repetitive in its phrasing, which limits the depth of the discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'The first and foremost reason', 'Another considerable benefit', 'In conclusion'). There are also instances where the logical progression between sentences is weak, such as the transition between the benefits of tall buildings and the idea of 'positive harmony'. While the paragraphing is present, the internal flow of ideas needs to be more sophisticated to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices and spelling errors, such as 'pritorize' (prioritized), 'metropolotian' (metropolitan), and 'rheir' (their). The use of 'positive harmony' is a bit vague in this context. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling and collocations. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'there are less space' (there is less space), 'high demand of labour' (high demand for labor), and 'result in pressure in the mind of people' (results in mental pressure). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage.
