Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is believed that costruct tall buildings blocks in the big towns is the best way to give more homes to people. Although, i agree with notion with some extent but in my opinion I believe that downsides of tall buildings should not be neglected.

On the one hand, the are many reasons to support my stance, First and foremost is that, it reduce the chance of deforestation. To make it clear that in this modern era, many people cut tress and make home which is harmful for environment and wild life but if they make tall apartment with many blocks then it gives many homes to people . Apart from this, it can also help to clean environment neat and clean. In other words, many people make tents house in big towns and throw garbage here and there which make the nature dirty and sometimes they also burn them which create air pollution and affect individuals health. For instance, in India there are many suburbs areas where many people built tent house and not able to keep environment clean. Therefore it is beneficial for people as well as animal to construct tall buildings.

On the other hand ,there also many drawbacks of this development. The primary one is that some people are not able to afford this type of houses. To explicate this, if governments introduced this kinds of houses than they also spend big amount of money and sell in high cost which is unable for some masses to buy them. For example, In India there are many city who construct tall apartments and sale these in expensive rate and due to this many people prefer to live in tent and other kinds of houses. Hence. tall buildings are not advantageous for some people.

To conclude, even though few are not affords this kind og apartments because of high rate ,still I believe that big houses are not only beneficial for wildlife but also for environment because it reduce the chance of air pollution and can become citizens healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks. You maintain a clear position throughout, although the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding environmental benefits is mentioned in both the introduction and the conclusion, but the supporting points remain quite general. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-developed point rather than restating the same concept. While the response is relevant, the explanation of why tall buildings are the 'best' way to provide homes could be more nuanced, as you focus primarily on environmental and affordability aspects rather than urban planning or infrastructure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Apart from this', and 'To conclude' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'To make it clear that in this modern era'. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, which occasionally forces the reader to re-read sentences to understand the connection between ideas. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'big', 'make', and 'houses'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'costruct tall buildings blocks', 'clean environment neat and clean', and 'sale these in expensive rate'. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, but they do indicate a need for more precise vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it reduce', 'many people cut tress'), article usage ('the are many reasons'), and tense consistency. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and periods. While you attempt to use complex sentences, they often contain errors that make the writing feel less fluent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing 's' on plural nouns and incorrect verb forms.
