Student answer (Band 5.0)
I agree to this point that tthe best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. as in big cities like Delhi, mumbai it is so hard to find a good home in budget the prices are alsways high in big cities as by building large appartments there would a good number of flats that can be made in these tall apartments, by this people will be able to buy or rent an apartment as they cheaper than houses and large apartments has everything from a pool area to a club house by this it would be so easier for the people to live in a good locality which has every basic necessary things and they can make good relations also, however making apartments could be bad for the people who live in slum area because making of a tall apartments would need a lot of good space and in biog cities there are a high amount of people who live in a slum area and by tall buildings there home would be ruined and the would be homeless but government can fix this problem by giving them compensation and a place to live. recently in delhi a new tall apartment has made in that there are 40 floors and in each floor there are 30 flats by this invention many people have found thier home in bidgert as it was made specially for the people who have limitted budget and it has everything. Conclusion is that in big citites there are a genuine need of tall apartments so that it could be easier for the people to find a place to call that home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of affordability and amenities, and briefly touch upon the counter-argument regarding slum areas, the points are not fully extended. The explanation of how the government can mitigate the displacement of slum dwellers is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples or logical steps to support your arguments, ensuring that the discussion remains balanced and thoroughly explored throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks formal paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The entire response is written as one long block of text, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a basic logical flow—moving from the benefits to the drawbacks and then to a conclusion—the lack of clear paragraph breaks and the limited use of cohesive devices (such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'on the other hand') make the structure feel mechanical and disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion would greatly enhance the clarity.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'good home', 'good number', and 'good locality'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'tthe', 'alsways', 'appartments', 'biog', and 'bidgert', which occasionally distract the reader. To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise collocations and topic-specific terminology related to urban planning and housing, while ensuring accurate spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay consists primarily of simple sentences and long, run-on sentences connected by commas. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits your ability to express sophisticated relationships between ideas. Punctuation is frequently misused, particularly with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and incorrect comma usage. There are also recurring grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('there are a genuine need') and article usage ('a tall apartment has made'). Focusing on sentence variety and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will help improve your score.
