Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding tall apartment blocks, but the position is unclear and poorly developed. While the writer mentions the topic, the arguments are repetitive and lack logical support. The ideas are often contradictory or confusing, such as the mention of 'big villas' which does not directly address the prompt about high-density housing. The response fails to provide a coherent argument or a clear stance, resulting in an underdeveloped essay that does not fully meet the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect (e.g., 'To commence with', 'however', 'moreover'). Many sentences are disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the transition between ideas is abrupt, which significantly hinders the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling (e.g., 'pouplation', 'limeted', 'towars', 'crowed', 'benifites'). The writer struggles to use precise terminology related to urban planning or housing, relying on basic words that do not convey the intended meaning effectively. The lack of variety and the high frequency of errors in basic vocabulary significantly limit the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many peoples are living'), sentence structure, and tense usage. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences ending abruptly or being run-on. The range of structures is very limited, and the high density of errors makes the text difficult to read.
