Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary era, in Metropolitan city number of population increasing day by day, by considering this point to provide sufficient homes to population the best way is to build a high rides. I strongly agree with this statement that government should encourage builders to built a tall building because of it can provide more home and it will save the fertile land.
The primary reason is to consider is as population is increasing and the free land for build a home is very less because of that it is a good way to construct apartment rather then raw house or benglows, for instance big city has many area where very big houses were constructed and only couple of peoples are living inside as a result few people blocked a large spaces and increasing population mare not getting enough home to live because raw house utilize more space so the best way is to build tall apartment which can provide home to maximum populations.
Another reason is by constructing high rides which use less fertile land which help to provide enough food to people and also government can save money by less invest in road and it also provide good quality road because apartments are near by. Moreover, government can use the remaining land for business which provide enough job to this increasing population and they can generate revenue.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with the view that best way to provide home to increasing population is to build a huge apartment which can save fertile land as well as save money because it lower the requirement of more roads.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on land conservation and infrastructure efficiency. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and the arguments lack depth. For instance, the point about 'raw houses' (detached houses) is mentioned twice without adding new insights. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or explore the counter-arguments (such as social isolation or infrastructure strain) to demonstrate a more balanced and thorough exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central idea. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices like 'The primary reason', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'raw house' and the broader argument could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of non-standard word choices, such as 'high rides' (likely meaning high-rises), 'raw house' (likely meaning detached houses), and 'benglows' (bungalows). Additionally, there are issues with word forms and collocations, such as 'less invest' instead of 'less investment'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and the frequent errors in word choice prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('number of population increasing'), article usage ('a high rides'), and awkward phrasing ('only couple of peoples are living'). While the meaning is usually understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation impede the fluency of the writing. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and attempting more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
