Student answer (Band 5.0)
the eloquence method for living is perferable in large apartmental block instead of home in a populated cities it is demand as well as basis necessity(need) for people to live under a roof ,in this essay i will discuss about the positive and negative aspects of apartment blocks
if i have to make a choice in between a home and apartment i will perfer a apartment because it become convientent for a individual like me to own a apartment.the main reason is that it become super afforable to manage it as blocks are less costly compared to homes. in addition utilitises can be handled efficiently .
apart from that homes are suitable for large families .it also require a lot of space to accomodate less number of people .
in my point of view apartments should be constructed in populated areas to provide shelter to people because often people come from differnt areas to live there

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop ideas. While the essay attempts to address the prompt by discussing the benefits of apartment blocks, the arguments are superficial and lack the necessary depth and supporting examples required for a higher band. The position is stated, but the development is truncated, leading to an under-developed response that does not fully explore the extent of the agreement or disagreement. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction, the body paragraphs are poorly developed and lack logical progression. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as 'in addition' and 'apart from that'. Paragraphing is present but ineffective because the ideas within the paragraphs are not well-connected. The transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt, and the conclusion is missing. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'eloquence method' (likely meant 'efficient'), 'apartmental block', and 'utilitises'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the spelling errors (e.g., 'perferable', 'convientent', 'afforable', 'differnt') are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and practice using these words in correct contexts. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it become'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in basic syntax, such as 'it is demand as well as basis necessity'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits the grammatical range. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading your work for punctuation and capitalization errors.
