Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response fails to address the task adequately as it relies heavily on placeholders and template text. While the introduction attempts to state a position, the body paragraphs are largely incomplete, containing labels like 'BODY PARAGRAPH 2' and 'REASON 2' rather than actual content. The student has not developed any arguments or provided relevant examples, leaving the prompt largely unanswered. The response is essentially a structural outline rather than a completed essay. To improve, the student must replace all placeholders with original, fully developed arguments and specific examples that directly address the prompt regarding tall apartment blocks.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression because the content is missing. While the student uses some cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'Therefore', these are attached to incomplete or repetitive ideas. The paragraphing is non-existent as the text includes meta-commentary labels instead of coherent paragraphs. The overall structure is fragmented, making it difficult for the reader to follow a train of thought. To improve, the student should focus on writing complete, well-connected paragraphs that flow logically from one point to the next without using structural placeholders.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'large number of houses' and 'reduce the travelling time' are used without variation. There are also significant errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'constructing large apartment floors' (instead of blocks) and 'nearer to domain' (which is unclear). The reliance on template phrases further restricts the range of vocabulary. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and ensure that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is weak, with frequent errors in sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage. For example, 'IT HEPLS THEM TO WORK MORE TIME' contains a spelling error and awkward phrasing. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper grammatical control. The use of all-caps throughout the response is also inappropriate for an academic task. To improve, the student must focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on reducing the frequency of grammatical errors that impede clarity.
