Student answer (Band 5.5)

Building our home plays paramount role in every individual life. Constructing tall buildings in the metro cities would be optimistic way to provide enough houses to everyone. I partially agree with this notion as tall apartment building provides fully furnished luxury things but many people wants make mansion or live in joint families which is not possible with this idea.

To commence with, in the urban areas people lives in hustle bustle , they usually stay at that places where all amenities are available for their families or themselves such as gym, park for kids and elders, personal space parking zone, nearby school and healthcare owing to they want to spend quality time with love-ones in this fast paced era. Beside that, it also may be beneficial for the forest life as legal authorities should stop deforestation to create more space for the citizens to build houses which systematically prevent ecological balance with positive approach.

On the flip side, many of the people having desire to make a beautiful space for kith and kin such as mansion and penthouse which major focus on privacy and can design everything as per their preference. Epitome, government should raise awareness regarding land protection among people so that they can utilize resources in the better way as a possible to guarded our surroundings.

In the conclusion, although tall apartment blocks are convenient choice for urban culture to understand limited resources , many of us having goals to build their own sanctuary to tackle safety and for personal landmark.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits and drawbacks of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention amenities and environmental benefits, the arguments are not fully extended or supported with specific examples. The position is clear, but the reasoning regarding 'mansion or joint families' is slightly underdeveloped and lacks a strong connection to the core issue of urban housing density. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, logical link between the topic sentence and the main argument, and provide more concrete evidence or reasoning to support your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Epitome' is used incorrectly to start a sentence, and transitions like 'Beside that' are slightly unnatural. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the benefits of urban living and the environmental argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and phrases more naturally, and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary range is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'luxury things', 'hustle bustle', and 'to guarded our surroundings'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'deforestation' and 'ecological balance', the overall control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more academic, precise terminology rather than informal or vague expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the flow. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people lives', 'many of us having goals'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'Building our home plays paramount role'). These errors are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to construct more complex sentences with greater accuracy by proofreading for common grammatical slips.
