Student answer (Band 5.5)

constructing multi flats building to manage dense population in big cities so everyone can have roof on their head. In my perspective building tall apartments blocks have more positive impact as compare to negative impact.

in past when population is less it every one have their own home on the one hand in today's increasing population in large cities it is difficult to provide every individual their own home because it will cause shortage of land which eventually leads to more homeless people. by constructing tall building it is easier to manage overpopulation and provide them all the resource like electricity, water ,security under the same roof and take care of each others need.

moreover there are also some benefits that people can help each other in their time of need for instance if someone is suffering from medical issue and other critical situation furthermore, it also play significant role in saving the electricity which is also helpful for the government and it is also considers in some areas that living in building upgrade theirs living standard.

on the other hand for some people living in building is not convenient because most of people like privacy they wants to live on their own without any disturbance because some entertainment activities like party and loud music can be distress full.

to conclude living in tall building have both advantages and disadvantages but advantages overweigh the disadvantage as some people prefer socialization over loneliness and it provides space to everyone also a proper way to manage overpopulation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention land shortage and resource management, the arguments remain quite general. For instance, the point about 'upgrading living standards' is asserted but not explained or supported with specific evidence. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or concrete examples. The conclusion restates your position, but the overall structure of the argument could be more robustly developed to fully explore the implications of high-density living.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'moreover', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand'). Some transitions are missing or awkward, such as the start of the second paragraph, which lacks a clear introductory phrase. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, 'it is also considers in some areas' is grammatically disjointed and makes the logical flow difficult to follow. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help your ideas flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'big cities', 'good', and 'bad'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'constructing multi flats building' instead of 'constructing multi-story apartment buildings' and 'distress full' instead of 'distressing'. You attempt some academic vocabulary, but the collocation is often inaccurate. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban planning and housing, and ensure you are using words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it every one have', 'it also play significant role'), missing articles (e.g., 'in past'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'it is also considers'). Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when you attempt complex constructions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and capitalization errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you use articles and prepositions correctly.
