Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention benefits like security and convenience, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The introduction is slightly confusing, as it states 'I will explain it before giving my own opinion, I agree or disagree' rather than clearly stating your position from the start. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported argument with concrete evidence or logical reasoning rather than listing general points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In addition after constructed tall blocks' or 'To conclude it'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between housing, schools, and parks feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would help create a smoother flow between your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'home'. There are also issues with word forms and collocations, such as 'it's significant to developed' (should be 'develop') and 'under one shade' (an incorrect idiom). To reach a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning and housing, while ensuring you use the correct grammatical form of the words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('they provides'), article usage ('in apartment blocks'), and tense consistency ('many people built schools' instead of 'build'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence structures prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb forms to improve your accuracy.
