Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of tall apartment blocks, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the second body paragraph contradicts your initial stance by arguing in favor of individual homes, which confuses the reader regarding your overall argument. The examples provided, such as Delhi and Rohtak, are relevant but lack sufficient explanation to fully support your points. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your thesis statement and provides deeper analysis rather than just listing examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hampered by the contradictory arguments presented in the second body paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes misused, such as 'On the first hand' and 'On other hand side,' which are not standard English phrases. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more natural transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one to create a unified argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'tall apartment masses' and 'optimal method to furnish.' You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'construct their homes' and 'construct their apartment.' To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and pay closer attention to collocations—for example, using 'high-rise buildings' instead of 'tall apartment blocks.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('a optimal method'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'For instance : Delhi and chandigarh are the huge cities have the tall apartment blocks.' While you attempt to use complex sentences, these often contain errors that impede clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct punctuation, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
