Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this growing, the numbers for population are growing significantly, so for them the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks, a statement which, I also agree because it is best solution for this problem.

The primary reason why making tall apartment blocks are the best solution to provide enough homes in large cities is, because of the inefficient area available for the construction, as the cities are getting developed day by day, so the area for residential project is also getting reduce, for which making tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. moreover, it will also reduce the language barriers and cultural discriminations, as large number of people will live in some society, they would communicate with each other and celebrate festivals together so this would result in reduction of language barriers and cultural diversity.

probing further the high enhanced urban amenities a it easier to get complete package for all these high enhanced urban amenities, because the companies will see the large demands for the amenities at a single placed rather making it on different places, so it will great oppurtunities for them and individual also as they will all of these at single place. Moreover it would be also easier for the government to all the essential public services like government schools, hospital, park or ground and the internet services, so as all of these essential services are required at single, so it will be easy for the authorities to make it happen and also it would be more cost saving than providing these facilities in different areas.

In conclusion, it is restated that building tall apartments block in large cities to provide enough homes is the best way for the both authorities and individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding 'language barriers' is not logically connected to building tall apartment blocks, as high-density living does not inherently reduce cultural discrimination. The second body paragraph is more relevant, focusing on urban amenities and cost-efficiency, but the expression is repetitive and lacks specific examples. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more logical, well-supported arguments rather than repeating the same points. The conclusion is also very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'probing further' is an unusual choice for this context. There is also significant repetition of phrases like 'best way to provide enough homes in large cities,' which makes the flow feel somewhat clunky. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the logical progression between sentences is sometimes interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the overall argument feel disjointed in places.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is a heavy reliance on basic vocabulary and repetitive phrasing. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'inefficient area available' instead of 'limited space' or 'high enhanced urban amenities.' There are also minor spelling errors like 'oppurtunities.' To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of collocations and avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay. Focus on using more academic vocabulary to express your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'making tall apartment blocks are'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'as all of these essential services are required at single'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and unnecessary commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
