Student answer (Band 5.5)
In order to give enough homes in huge cities, it is suitable to construct heightened apartments blocks. I strongly agree with this statement it is the best way to protect environment and land and also suitable to provide shelter to a large number of population.
To provide homes to a large population requires a better plan. Large number of houses or colonies are required in order to fit a massive population resulting in over-urbanization and pollution. In order to give shelter to families green belts have to be reduced and this causes massive population living in congested area with no fresh air. So, I highly recommend that tall apartments are far more better and useful than separate houses.
Tall apartment blocks can accommodate a massive population.
and it reduces the need of massive area to construct a number of houses resulting in cutting down of green belts. For example, In china there are 60 floor buildings and each floor consists of almost 30 flats which is enough to give residence to a huge number of families also, it is better for students that have moved to cities for education or employment purpose to rent out a single room flat instead of buying or renting out a large house.
In a nutshell, I agree with this statement that it is better to build numerous multiple apartment blocks instead of buying or renting out a house for a family. It help us to overcome over-urbanization and pollution and help us to increase green belt areas also, it provide accomodation to a massive population.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The main ideas—environmental protection and efficient land use—are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention China as an example, the explanation of how tall buildings specifically solve over-urbanization is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported argument rather than restating the same points about 'green belts' and 'massive population' multiple times. The conclusion is clear, but the overall depth of the argument remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'In a nutshell' and 'For example' to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes interrupted by mechanical phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. For instance, the transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the opening paragraph, which lacks a specific antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'over-urbanization,' 'accommodate,' and 'residence.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'heightened apartments blocks' (should be 'high-rise apartment blocks') and 'massive area' (should be 'large amount of land'). Some vocabulary is repetitive, particularly the word 'massive,' which is used several times. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and to demonstrate a more sophisticated control of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('the environment'), subject-verb agreement ('it provide'), and awkward phrasing ('far more better'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences starting with lowercase letters after a period or containing unnecessary fragments. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
