Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays as the world is growing fast technically and in terms of populations too. Every country just wants to stabilize there economy and infrastructure that plays a vital role in countries developments.
If we talk about the best way to accomodate the population in large cities is to bui;ding tall apartment blocks which we have seen in many succesful countries those are leading the world. According to y analysis this is the best way because in most of countries larger cities are trades hub. As an example I can consider my country Pakistan which has largest city Karachi.
Karachi is most populated city in my country which has 2 million plus Poulation because there are many peoples those move from another cities for many reasons like businesses, jobs or etc. I have seen many tall apartments in karachi and if they were not build it was almost nearly impossible to accomodate this population because it lands doesnt extend that much.
I agree to this statement because i have experienced it myself when i move to karachi for my housejob in one of the large hospitals of country and there i use to live in apartment which was beneficial in many perspective like it was cost effective to rent out an apartment rather than a whole house. further it was very good to socializing with neighbours because they all were with different cultures and languages.
Once our apartment just caught on fire which extended to whole block and everyone was just trying to escape and saving their lifes I was then sleeping one of my neighbors just knock on my door and wake me up because it was whole alot danger. That was the time when i realize the socializing is main positive impact of apartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide personal anecdotes about living in Karachi, the argument could be strengthened by discussing broader urban planning concepts, such as land scarcity or environmental impact, rather than relying solely on personal experience. The response is somewhat repetitive in its focus on the social benefits of apartment living. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more balanced and analytical, moving beyond personal narrative to address the 'extent' of the agreement more comprehensively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'As an example' and 'I agree to this statement' are used, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. Additionally, some transitions are abrupt, such as the shift from the benefits of apartments to the anecdote about the fire. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between your points will significantly improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some basic errors in word choice, such as 'technically' instead of 'technologically' and 'peoples' instead of 'people'. There is also a reliance on simple, repetitive language. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development, such as 'high-density housing', 'urban sprawl', 'infrastructure development', or 'sustainable living'. Focusing on accurate collocations and avoiding informal phrasing will help you demonstrate a more flexible and precise command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it lands doesnt extend'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'if they were not build'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often fragmented or run-on, which affects the overall readability. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and tense consistency. Attempting more complex structures is good, but ensure they are grammatically sound to avoid frequent errors that distract the reader.
