Student answer (Band 5.0)
In tall apartment, there is multiple of floors and much space to live . Tall apartment occupied small space then building a community.
for example one building have 12 floors and each floor have 5 apartment this means in this apartment 60 families can live . In large cities many migrate people come from different small cities. and the living standard of the tall apartment is better than the own homes because in the tall apartment there is too much facilities such as gym, car parking, shopping mall and play area. The main reason reason to live in apartment is safety because i think apartment is much safer than the own homes because in apartment 24/7 security guards is available. The cost of living is apartment is low because everyone contribute for the facilities. my experience to live in apartment is too much good , i live in apartment and the environment of apartment is good everyone live like a family.
Advantages, I noted to live in tall apartment
1. Amazing view : The higher the floor the better view

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide some reasons, such as space efficiency and safety, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The structure is also problematic; the inclusion of a bulleted list is not appropriate for an IELTS Academic Task 2 essay, which requires formal prose. To improve, you should focus on expanding your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning and ensuring that your response follows a standard essay format with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'in apartment' and 'the tall apartment'. The paragraphing is ineffective, particularly the transition into a bulleted list, which disrupts the flow of the argument. Referencing is often unclear, and the connection between sentences is frequently weak. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. Phrases like 'too much facilities' and 'migrate people' are inaccurate and suggest a limited range. There is also a lack of precision in word choice, such as using 'own homes' to refer to ground-level residences. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in collocation prevent the response from reaching a higher band. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing to improve your lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'in tall apartment'), pluralization (e.g., 'many migrate people'), and sentence structure. The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors in syntax and punctuation. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Increasing your control over sentence construction will help you convey your ideas more accurately and effectively.
