Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, some people believe that to get a sufficient homes in large cities is the effective way to construct tall apartment blocks. I largely agree with this view because a large number of people may live in high-rise building, while land utilize properly, and an affordable for rural and bachelor’s people.
Firstly, a growing number of people may easily live in apartments, and land may use it wisely. Instead of constructing houses across different areas, it may easy to build a home in these buildings, where sufficient people may live. This may be beneficial in large cities because it may be expensive to purchase own land. For example, a building may construct fourteen or more floors, where many families may live comfortably. As a result, it may not difficult to find a home in urban areas.
Secondly, it may easy for rural or bachelor’s people to live in these apartments because it may be inexpensive for them. There are many bachelor’s students, who may manage their expenses by their own, they may find these houses economical. For example, there are four people, who live in a bachelor’s life, they may divide their expenses equally. This helps them to live in large cities easily without worrying about an individual home. Therefore, a lot of people may come in these areas their home.
In conclusion, I agree with the approach to make a building with different blocks because these apartments may accommodate many people, and land may use it effectively. Also these are budget friendly for people who come from villages as well as for a bachelor’s people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on land efficiency and affordability for specific demographics like students. However, the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about land usage is mentioned in both body paragraphs without significant extension. The ideas are generally clear, but the explanation lacks depth and specific, real-world examples beyond generic scenarios. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, such as discussing the social or environmental implications of high-rise living, rather than repeating the same points about cost and space.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear topic sentence. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly awkward, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between the idea of land usage and the example of a fourteen-floor building feels abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to achieve a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'people', 'homes', and 'buildings'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'get a sufficient homes', 'land utilize properly', and 'bachelor’s people'. These errors occasionally make the text sound unnatural. To improve, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, such as 'high-density living', 'urban sprawl', or 'cost-effective solutions', and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. Common issues include incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'a building may construct' instead of 'a building may be constructed'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it may not difficult'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to limit the score. You should focus on mastering passive voice constructions and ensuring subject-verb agreement to improve your accuracy.
