Student answer (Band 5.5)
World's population is increasing constantly and it is becoming difficult to manage the accommodation and layout of the city . I strongly agree that the most precise way to build homes in metropolitan cities is by building high rise buildings .
Commencing with the most prominent reason , constructing a tall apartments or skyscrapers accommodate more population as usually large cities like Delhi , Mumbai are overpopulated and residents find it difficult to locate homes while tall building can solve such major problem . Moreover , the apartment residents also need not to accommodate other facilities as a house owner for example a house owner need a proper water supply and gas line attached to their house meanwhile an apartment owner usually get these facilities with the ownership of the flat .
Another significant reason is , these apartments also save land and space for instance land which was to be used for constructing few houses can be used for development of the society as the government can build sport arena or a public library for the residence of the city .Furthermore , building a apartment also save taxes of residence as the house owners are required to pay comparatively more taxes than flat owners which include land taxes , construction tax .
In conclusion , the high rise apartments should be constructed as they provide enough space for accommodation in large cities and the left space can be utilized for societal development . The apartment residents also gain tax and facility benefits .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of high-rise buildings. The ideas are relevant, focusing on population density, infrastructure efficiency, and land use. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding tax benefits is underdeveloped and lacks clarity, as it is not universally true that flat owners pay fewer taxes than house owners. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced explanations and ensure that your supporting examples are logically sound and universally applicable rather than relying on generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Commencing with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'meanwhile an apartment owner usually get these facilities'. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability and coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'metropolitan cities', 'high rise buildings', and 'overpopulated'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the most precise way' (instead of 'effective' or 'practical') and 'need not to accommodate other facilities' (which is confusing). To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms would also help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the house owner', 'a apartment') and subject-verb agreement ('an apartment owner usually get'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. To achieve a higher band, you need to demonstrate better control over basic grammar, especially articles and pluralization, and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without errors that distract the reader.
