Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, number of multistory building are rising in metropolitan due rising population. Many concerned developing bodies of cities consider it as positive change as they believe constructing multi level buildings is efficient way to allocate houses in greater metropolitan areas. From my standpoint, i firmly agree to a greater extent as it is beneficial.
Although cities are expanding their boundaries for more space, Housing shortage is one of the growing issue in cities due to rising population in cities as constant migration of workers in cities for better job opportunities. Constructing tall apartments can provide more houses to the residents over building row houses with just one or two floors. For an example cities like Mumbai, Pune, Banglore have dense populated areas and numerous tall buildings proving shelters to great number of residents of that cities.
Restriction on building in heights is not constraint compare to limitation of building house in available space in terms of length and width of available on land. Additionally, well planned residency with multi story buildings will be results in better utilisation of land and builder can create facilities in common plot for an instance park and gym.
However, constructing building may results into less connectivity between neighbours and it can be turn into social challenge. Furthermore, one potential area of focus is it can not be constructed near fly zone of aeroplanes.
Considering all aspects, construction of tall building has plenty of benefits and major one is optimum utilisation of limited space but permission from regulatory bodies must be considered while planning to build cities in this manner.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The main arguments—efficient land use and the provision of shared facilities—are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the mention of social challenges and flight path restrictions is brief and lacks sufficient elaboration to fully support the argument. While the response covers all parts of the task, the supporting examples (Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore) are mentioned but not deeply analyzed to show how they specifically prove the efficiency of tall buildings. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations or evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For an example cities like...' or 'it can be turn into'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the benefits and the drawbacks could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'metropolitan', 'allocate', 'utilization', and 'regulatory bodies'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'number of multistory building are rising' (should be 'buildings'), 'proving shelters' (should be 'providing shelter'), and 'fly zone of aeroplanes' (should be 'flight path'). These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range of sophisticated vocabulary and occasional inaccuracies in word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include missing articles ('in metropolitan', 'in cities'), subject-verb agreement issues ('number of... building are'), and awkward phrasing ('will be results in'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization of 'i' and comma usage. While the writer attempts complex structures, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for articles, plurals, and verb forms would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
