Student answer (Band 5.0)

Most of the people around the world have been not loving to stay in the building of apartments, as the matter of fact its a little uncomfortable for people to live in buildings except popular one. Large city becomes more beautiful due to having more houses for people to live.

I believe that living in a separate house is better than living in the apartment blocks. More houses should be built in the large cities in order to provide enough homes to people rather than building tall apartments, those buildings usually suits to a small society or similar to that. If we talk about the benefits of building more houses in society, so the a large city becomes more beautiful because of having more houses. It means that presentation of a city becomes pretty and for enough homes for people to live there. Its a better convenience to have own separate house for a family than living in apartment.

People pursue to have their own comfortable environment as living in a separate house in large cities. Large cities in much countries countries such as USA, UK, CANADA, JAPAN, and many more have been providing separate houses in order to provide enough homes to people in large cities, which is a noticeable thing for us to understand that large city contains large amount of shelters to get built and this development have been gained by many large cities around the world.

In the end in would love to mention that large cities should always get designed having more houses to provide enough homes to people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments provided—such as the aesthetic appeal of separate houses—are not fully supported with logical reasoning or concrete examples. The mention of countries like the USA and UK is vague and does not effectively demonstrate how these nations successfully provide enough homes through separate housing in large cities. The response lacks a nuanced discussion of the challenges of urban density, which is central to the prompt. Consequently, the ideas remain superficial and under-developed throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. Transitions between sentences are often mechanical or missing, making the flow disjointed. For example, the transition 'If we talk about the benefits of building more houses in society, so the a large city becomes more beautiful' is grammatically awkward and lacks clear cohesive links. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of cohesive devices is limited. While there is an attempt at a conclusion, it is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or reinforce the central argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There is a reliance on simple words like 'good', 'better', and 'beautiful'. Some word choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as 'presentation of a city' instead of 'appearance' or 'aesthetic', and 'shelters' used to refer to residential housing. There are also instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'Most of the people around the world have been not loving to stay'. The range is insufficient to demonstrate precision, and the errors in collocation occasionally hinder the clarity of the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('those buildings usually suits'), article usage ('the a large city'), and tense consistency ('have been not loving'). Sentence structures are predominantly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. A greater focus on mastering simple sentence structures before attempting complex ones is recommended.
