Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention social benefits and cost-efficiency, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the claim that living in a building 'develops the sense of humanity' is vague and not clearly supported by logical reasoning. The conclusion is also quite weak, as it does not summarize your main points effectively but rather introduces a slightly confusing final thought. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear, well-explained argument with concrete examples that directly relate to the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the flow between and within sentences is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'Moreover', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not logically connect the ideas that follow. For example, the transition to the second paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'that can not be mitigate by the residence of home', where the meaning is obscured by poor phrasing. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between sentences will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and often imprecise, which occasionally makes your meaning difficult to grasp. You rely on basic terms like 'huge flat' and 'residence' repeatedly. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'proliferation of modern residence is surging' and 'interaction with multilingual'. These errors indicate a lack of familiarity with natural English collocations. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary and ensure that words are used in the correct context. Focus on learning phrases rather than isolated words to improve your precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that sometimes impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'residence is plays', 'demand is increase'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are awkward or incomplete, such as 'I am largely agree with that this is necessarily significant'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tenses will also help you achieve a higher score.
