Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely acknowledged that urban areas are in dire need of accommodation due to the rising population, and to tackle this issue, the practical solution is to construct high-rise buildings that contain apartments to accommodate the large number of people in cities. The given perspective to cater for this issue has the potential to curb this problem for the residents within the limited premises. I strongly stand with this idea, and this essay will go over the practical reasons to justify this claim.
In this current era, people are more interested in living in urban areas, where they get excellent facilities, since a lot of people wish to reside in metropolitan cities. So, cities might not have enough land to accommodate everyone. For this problem, a considerable solution is constructing apartment buildings to curb the population issue in urban areas. For instance, within limited space, a huge number of individuals can live, having all the luxuries they would get in their own houses. Although it is a little bit saturated, people would still meet their demand.
Building on this, if that idea were executed with a proper layout with the assistance of concerned departments such as architects, engineers and so on, then this idea has the potential to resolve this issue once and for all. For instance, firstly, people's basic needs should be addressed with proper care, and there should be no compromise on their shelter, along with taking care of sports activities to allow them to be fit as a fiddle.
In conclusion, the apartment towers come across as the best way to provide the residence to people and other land can be used for other purposes.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the need for housing and the efficiency of high-rise buildings, the arguments remain quite general. For instance, you mention 'excellent facilities' and 'luxuries' without specifying what these are or why they are better suited to high-rise living compared to other housing models. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or deeper analysis of the trade-offs involved, such as the impact on community life or infrastructure requirements, rather than repeating the idea of 'limited space' multiple times.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'In this current era', 'Building on this', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive. For example, the second paragraph circles back to the idea of 'limited space' and 'population issues' without adding new layers of argument. Additionally, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each sentence contributes a distinct point would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using phrases like 'dire need', 'metropolitan cities', and 'fit as a fiddle'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural collocations or word choices, such as 'the given perspective to cater for this issue' or 'a little bit saturated', which sound informal or imprecise. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focusing on more academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'if that idea were executed... then this idea has the potential'. While most sentences are understandable, there are occasional grammatical slips, such as 'provide the residence to people' (should be 'provide housing') and 'the practical solution is to construct... the given perspective to cater for this issue has the potential to curb this problem' (which is slightly wordy and redundant). The punctuation is generally accurate, but the sentence variety could be expanded to include more sophisticated structures to demonstrate better control.
