Student answer (Band 5.5)

Being very transparent, I am not underlying my opinion to agree or contradict anyone's statement. However, I would like to extend my gradual opinion to explain the reasons behind to support to build skyscapers residential buildings in large cities.

Nowadays, its anyone's dreams to get maximum oppertunities and they move to bigger cities like New York, Washington DC or Guangzhou. These cities are full of energy to boost the career and business as well. To gether maximum people under same roof, it is quite impactful to build tall buildings with multiple homes inside. Some of the districts have high rank universities which grab the attention of people from all over the world. So, people find accommodation for theirselves at the same place. Hereby, government and some gaint business ticons build such residential blocks to accommodate the people at the same place which have great impact on affordbility. In this way, maximum people can get same kind of benefits from same county. Most of the time, students from university have to find a single room apartment and they can easily afford. Nevertheless, if they have to find any house for that which is very expensive and charm of the city will be very limited to specific people.

Most importantly, when larger number of outsider move to any metropolitan city the local residents face multiple problems including price hike of homes and lands. Therefore, this is very suitable for any government to undercontrol the cost for locals. Moreover, one more factor is that a single building can provide residence up to hundred of people without destroying the nature. While in the comparison, if we build 100 houses on the ground which is killer idea for green beauty of nature.

In conclusion, skyscraper builldings are much beneficial to provide roof to families.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of tall apartment blocks, such as affordability and land preservation. However, the position is not clearly established in the introduction, as the opening sentence is confusing and fails to state a clear stance. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the argument regarding 'green beauty' is a good point but lacks specific evidence or a more sophisticated explanation. To improve, ensure your introduction clearly states your position (e.g., 'I strongly agree that...') and provide more detailed, logical support for each main point in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Being very transparent' and 'Hereby' are used incorrectly, which disrupts the flow of ideas. The transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing (e.g., 'that' in 'if they have to find any house for that') is occasionally unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and contains several errors. There are frequent spelling mistakes (e.g., 'oppertunities', 'gaint', 'ticons', 'affordbility', 'builldings') and word-choice issues, such as 'undercontrol' and 'killer idea'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'metropolitan' and 'residential blocks', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practice using collocations (e.g., instead of 'killer idea', use 'detrimental to').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government and some gaint business ticons build'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'I am not underlying my opinion'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels forced. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and article usage. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will significantly improve your score.
