Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely argued that the most efficient way to provide adequate living spaces in urban hubs is to build towering apartment blocks. As per as my perspective is considered, I believe that constructing tall housing spaces is a right way to go about this issue of overpopulation in urban areas.
There are reasons to what I believe and the first thing that comes to mind while siding in this discussion is the real world examples of mega cities like Lahore, Karachi, Mumbai, Delhi and many more, the list just goes. The administration in these cities have done exactly this. Building tall apartment blocks provides us with two main advantages; One is that people's houses move vertically upwards instead of spreading horizontally and occupying more area and as a result, the businesses and the administration has more area to work with in order to carry out more economical activities. The businesses, shopping centers and hospitals built on an area which would not have been built if the area was occupied in housing people on ground, account for economical growth and higher returns because there are more customers for these businesses to deal with in these large cities.
The other is that it also provides more space for parks and playgrounds of children. In a large city, where there is high population and less land mass to operate on, wasting a valuable piece of land on housing people would reduce the already less city area and hence contribute to lesser financial activities and lesser parks for children to play in. In large cities, it is observed that the population based on ground wastes space and in return, the government has to expand cities to carry out their projects.
In my opinion, at the heart of urban hubs, people should only be allowed to live in sky high apartments. However, if there are people who dislike the idea of apartments and wants to have the luxury of a garden, rooftop, a backyard or a driveway may build a separate home a little away from the city center.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding land efficiency and the potential for increased economic activity and public amenities. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the focus on 'economic growth' and 'lesser parks' is mentioned in both the second and third paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point. While you mention cities like Mumbai and Karachi, the explanation of how these specific examples prove your point could be more detailed. Overall, the task is addressed adequately with a clear stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'The other is that' and 'As a result', to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by slightly awkward phrasing, such as 'the list just goes' and 'the population based on ground'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, work on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that transitions between sentences are smoother to avoid a mechanical feel in the progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'urban hubs', 'economical activities', and 'overpopulation'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural collocations, such as 'the population based on ground' and 'sky high apartments', which could be expressed more idiomatically. While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, some word choices are imprecise. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring that your vocabulary is consistently appropriate for an academic context rather than relying on slightly informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'As per as my perspective is considered' (a redundant and incorrect structure) and 'wants to have' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and minor errors in article usage. To improve, focus on refining your complex sentence structures and proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and prepositional accuracy. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of minor errors prevents a higher score.
