Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. Because, it save land in metropolitan cities. I agree this to provide houses in apartments to the people. High-rise apartments are useful to accommodate large number of people and easier to provide public transport and services.
Firstly, the main reason why I agree with this view is that they provide so many homes on limited land. This is because of rapid growth in population led to need houses. For example, recently in some cities all tall apartments also called we planned residential communities with multiple benefits. Therefore, these tall buildings are useful and beneficial for all population in cities.
Secondly, another important reason is that provide transport and public services, in other when a large number of people live in the same area, public transport, schools, hospitals and other facilities can be provided more efficiently. For instance apartment owner should provide a bus for community members and provides a lot of parking space. As a result, people will have lots of useful things to complete a day in apartments.
In conclusion, i strongly agree that building tall apartment blocks is an effective way to provide sufficient housing in large cities. Because they can accommodate many people on limited land and the people of high-rise buildings will get more facilities than others.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of high-rise apartments. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main points regarding land efficiency and service accessibility are relevant, they are under-developed and lack depth. The examples provided, such as 'recently in some cities all tall apartments also called we planned residential communities,' are vague and lack clarity. To reach a higher band, you must expand your arguments with more specific, detailed examples and ensure the response meets the length requirement to allow for full development of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical or disjointed. For instance, the transition 'Because, it save land' at the beginning is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the logical flow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'useful,' 'provide,' and 'things.' There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'we planned residential communities' (likely meaning 'well-planned') and 'apartment owner should provide a bus.' To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, such as 'urban density,' 'infrastructure,' 'sustainability,' or 'high-density living,' and ensure collocations are used correctly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it save land'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'I agree this to provide houses'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that affect the overall quality. To achieve a higher score, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and attempting more complex grammatical forms with greater accuracy.
