Student answer (Band 6.0)
It has been argued that sky scrappers are the best way to provide enough homes in metropolitan cities. In my opinion, I agree with this statement to a large extent because it can solve a lot of problems. My preference is explained in the following paragraphs with relevant reasons and appropriate examples.
To begin with, the main reason why i agree is that population are increasing in all around the world which require more houses for residents. Land also has become costlier these days. Hence, tall buildings are sole solution to this issue. Moreover, these buildings contain various amenities such as swimming pool, a small garden, and also a roof top gardening which can help to reduce air pollution and also provide some vegetables. In addition to this, raw houses take significant amount of space. So, agriculture land does not have enough space to cultivate their plants and eventually, food cycle might be affected due to this developments.
In addition, another compelling reason is that, sky scrappers often offer cheaper rates as compared to raw houses in cities. Therefore, an individual from middle class can also afford his dream house. Besides this goverment also provide some subsidies for people who purchase houses in apartments. Furthermore, security systems in high rise buildings are far more better than raw houses which include cctv cameras, secutity guards and fire safety equipments.
However, it should not be overlooked that construction of large buildings reuire huge funds. It is often notice that people do not involve in community work as well as very indulge in private life. Hence, it can effect their mental well being.
In conclusion, high rise buildings can mitigate the demand for houses in mega cities because they are cheaper, provide facilities, reuce pollution and better security systems. Nevertheless, it also need high budget and make human more fragile.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have clearly stated your position and addressed the prompt by providing reasons for your agreement. The ideas are relevant, such as land scarcity, amenities, and security. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'mental well-being' in the fourth paragraph is introduced but not fully explained or linked back to the main argument effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more depth and specific examples. You have addressed all parts of the task, but the supporting arguments could be more robust to demonstrate a more sophisticated level of critical thinking.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'Nevertheless' to guide the reader. However, some of the transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the shift from discussing security to the disadvantages of high-rise buildings in the fourth paragraph is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the paragraphing is appropriate for an IELTS essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'metropolitan', 'amenities', 'subsidies', and 'mitigate'. However, there are several spelling errors ('sky scrappers', 'goverment', 'secutity', 'reuire', 'reuce') and some awkward collocations, such as 'raw houses' (which is not standard English; 'detached houses' or 'low-rise housing' would be better). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, the recurring spelling mistakes and the use of non-standard phrasing limit your score. Focusing on accurate spelling and more natural collocations will help improve your lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a good start. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('population are increasing', 'agriculture land does not have enough space', 'it also need high budget') and article usage errors ('a small garden', 'the main reason why i agree'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, pay closer attention to pluralization, subject-verb agreement, and consistent capitalization of the pronoun 'I'.
