Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days, there is ongoing debate about large cities should construct huge apartments for accomadation. While some people support this view, others hold the opposite opinion. In my perspective, I completely agree that flats are best solution for massive cities. This essay will explain the reasons behind my viewpoint.
The primary reason, why I support this view is that large cities are densly populated. This is largely because many cities need to accomodate refugees or migrated people making it difficult for people to build there own houses. For instance, Karachie is overpopulated because of different culture living together rising the need of apartments. Therefore,It is clear that apartment is the need of hour.
Another compelling reason for my opinion is that it save resources. By this I mean that this prevent huge land reservation, cutting of forests, and energy losses. For example, in Lahore most of the land is saved due to construction of apartments.
Admittedly, some people argue that homes are best place to live as compare to flats. This is because they think that they cann't get proper resources such as electricity, gas, or parking areas. And in many areas people have to face many restrictions also making people more conscise towards there own housing system.
In conclusion , although some people believe that to save spaces in large cities apartments are the best solution and I also hold the same opinion because of overpopulation and less resources usage. For the reason, I completely agree with the given stance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention population density and resource conservation, the arguments remain superficial and lack depth. For instance, the example of Karachi is mentioned but not fully explained in relation to the benefits of tall buildings. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning or specific evidence. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, restating the introduction rather than synthesizing the main points. Overall, the task is addressed, but the support for your arguments needs more substance and analytical depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another compelling reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For the reason' in the final paragraph. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more naturally connected.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'accomadation', 'densly', 'accomodate', 'Karachie', 'cann't', and 'conscise'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'overpopulated' and 'resources', the range is limited. To achieve a higher score, you should work on expanding your vocabulary to include more precise and academic terms, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice to ensure accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with articles ('the need of hour'), subject-verb agreement, and word forms ('there own houses' instead of 'their own'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, proofreading for common errors like 'there/their', and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions.
