Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today's time frame where large urban areas have high density of population .Because of high density of population they face scarcity of homes in urban areas. Some individuals suggest an idea is that the best way to provide enough homes in large urban area is to construct high-rise buildings. I believe that constructing high-rise buildings would provided enough homes in urban areas.

In addition, states like delhi, mumbai and bangalore are counted under biggest metropolis with high density of population. A large number of population migrate every year from other states to in these states in search of employment as a result these metropolis get over-crowded and faces scarcity of homes. Furthermore, some individual job seekers are live in sharing apartment because of lack of space to live.

However, constructing high-rise buildings would help numerous individuals by providing enough space to stay along with their family members. Because of these new buildings the metropolis look more sophisticated and attractive. Furthermore the new flats will sold out soon because of their high demand in the market.

To conclude, build high-rise apartments in urban areas could be a beneficial decision for numerous job seekers who migrate from their homeland into the other states in search of employment. Moreover, the sophisticated image of metropolis states will rose gradually and other states also get inspired with these urban areas. Thus from my point of view it's a beneficial idea for peoples and by building new apartments makes an area look more developed and attractive

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of high-rise buildings. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention population density and migration in cities like Delhi and Mumbai, the arguments remain somewhat superficial. For instance, you mention that flats will 'sold out soon' and that cities will look 'sophisticated,' but these points are not fully extended or supported with deeper analysis regarding the social or economic implications of high-density living. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed reasoning and perhaps consider counter-arguments to create a more balanced and comprehensive discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition,' 'Furthermore,' and 'To conclude.' However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the mention of job seekers and the aesthetic appeal of buildings. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'these metropolis get over-crowded' where the pluralization is incorrect. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas will enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'high density of population' and 'urban areas.' There are also some collocation errors, such as 'metropolis states' and 'the sophisticated image... will rose gradually.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional inaccuracies in word choice suggest a limited lexical range. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing infrastructure, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'some individual job seekers are live in sharing apartment' (incorrect verb form and article usage), 'the new flats will sold out' (incorrect passive voice), and 'metropolis states will rose' (incorrect tense). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors indicates a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction and verb tenses.
