Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is aurged that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. I have a mixed view in this statement. On one end it is true that tall apartment are the most cost-friendly option to build but in another end it has to many risk factor.
Nobody can aurge that building tall apartment blocks provide excess amount of homes in small area. In one tall apartment from 50 to 100 families can make it their homes and the constructions of these types of apartmant can cost more at first but it recover its cost with in few years and these apartments help to manage the overall landscape of the town with providing excess land for other sector rather then housing. In fact many of the developed cities manage there housing problems by building tall apartment like in Tokyo, London, New York City ans so on and there tall apartment is also popular for some tourist from rular areas.
On the other hand tall apartment blocks have it own risk factors. In theories tall apartment blocks will have less problem but in real life many builder negelate the safety regulation of these apartment many donf even have emergency exit and fire exitinguser in the apartment. For instance, many of the apartment blocks in country like india where rules and regulation is not strong tall apartment do not even have a minimal safety regulation.
In conclusion, considering both view it is clear that building tall apartment blocks is a good option for cities with strong rules and regulations; howerer I strongly believe that it is very risky for cities with not strong regulations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and risks of building tall apartment blocks in large cities, presenting a clear position that the writer has a mixed view. The main ideas are generally relevant, such as cost-efficiency, land conservation, and safety concerns. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on safety risks refers generally to countries like India and weak regulations, but lacks deeper extension or more detailed support. Because the prompt asks 'To what extent do you agree or disagree?', expressing a mixed view is acceptable, but the arguments could have been more fully elaborated to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, demonstrating a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing opposing sides, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion within sentences and paragraphs is frequently faulty or mechanical. Transition phrases such as 'On one end', 'in another end' (incorrect preposition usage), and 'Nobody can aurge' reveal a reliance on formulaic or awkward linking. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between sentences occasionally stumbles due to grammatical disruptions. Progression is visible, but the management of cohesive devices places this response securely at Band 5.5 to 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'cost-friendly', 'excess land', and 'safety regulation'. However, there are numerous spelling errors ('aurged', 'apartmant', 'negelate', 'donf', 'exitinguser', 'rular', 'howerer') and word-choice inaccuracies ('excess amount of homes', 'make it their homes') that detract from the writing. While communication is not severely impeded and the meaning remains clear throughout, the frequent errors in spelling and collocation prevent the response from achieving a higher band. The lexical control aligns best with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capacity to structure multi-clause sentences, such as 'In conclusion, considering both view it is clear that building tall apartment blocks is a good option for cities with strong rules and regulations...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('tall apartment are', 'apartment blocks have it own'), article usage ('in country like india'), and punctuation. These errors occur regularly across the text, occasionally causing difficulty for the reader, which places the grammatical performance at Band 5.0.
