Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the ever-evolving world, development in the urban and rural area is playing crucial part for individuals. Similarly, serve enough home to the society in large city especially apartments is necessary. I partially agree with this statement which i will mention in below paragraphs.
To begin with, these days there are many urban area is under development. It means the higher authority is try to fix the housing problem in the cities. That is why they are looking to the build tall building instead of the houses. Which are occupied less area and they are easily provide the facilities to their citizens. Moreover, they also think about the control the housing crisis in the cities. Such as, there are many individual who migrate from the rural area and try to live in the city for better life. Some how they are facing difficulties in finding perfect house. That is why government decided to build more apartment in the city. For example, during the year 2020 in the Surat city there was one survey conducted by the university students. They were find out the proportion of the migration level and total house needed according to the city population.
On the other hand, there are some drawback of this idea is the over crowd population and less area of land. It means, if higher authority constructed lots of building in the city. It is not only covering more land area but also reason of the increase the population of the city. Furthermore, for the development they are cutting down the trees and it is directly affect to the climate. In addition, people are throwing waste on land and surrounding area of the apartment which is also affect the environment and increase the chances of the illness or disease.
To conclude, providing more facilities in the city as a house is the good idea but there are few major problem directly or indirectly affect the environment as well as health. Whereas, tall building is beneficial for citizens of the city.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether building tall apartment blocks is the best solution for providing homes in large cities, and the writer clearly states a partial agreement in the introduction. Relevant ideas are presented, such as addressing housing shortages, urban migration, and environmental drawbacks. However, these ideas are often somewhat under-developed and lack extension. For instance, the example provided about Surat city is slightly vague and does not strongly anchor the argument. Additionally, the reasoning regarding environmental impacts could be pushed further. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of task fulfilment aligns best with a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesion. Phrases like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to link paragraphs, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak. For example, sentences such as 'Which are occupied less area and they are easily provide the facilities to their citizens' demonstrate disjointed referencing and awkward clause linking. Paragraphing is present, but the overall flow feels choppy, which is characteristic of Band 5.5 to 6.0. It sits comfortably at a Band 5.5 due to mechanical linking and unclear referencing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate vocabulary range to communicate ideas about urban development, migration, and the environment, including words like 'urban', 'migration', 'proportion', and 'environment'. However, there are frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as 'serve enough home' instead of 'provide enough homes', 'urban area is under development' (plural/singular agreement), and 'control the housing crisis'. Attempts at less common vocabulary often result in inaccurate forms, such as 'over crowd population' and 'illness or disease'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing articles, and incorrect verb forms. Examples include 'which i will mention in below paragraphs', 'higher authority is try to fix', 'they are looking to the build tall building', and 'it is directly affect to the climate'. Punctuation is also problematic, with several sentence fragments used, such as 'Which are occupied less area...' and 'It means, if higher authority constructed lots of building in the city. It is not only covering...'. These errors frequently cause strain for the reader, placing the grammar at a Band 5.0.
