Student answer (Band 5.5)

The rapid proliferation of urban areas' residents and infrastructural development has fundamentally altered the different suggestion of accomodation construction. It is often argued that the most convinced method to provide adequade number of homes in cities is to construct the tall apartment blocks. While some individuals content that infrastructure like tall apartment structure is not always the proper way to enhance the surge of accomodation, emphasizing it might destroy surrounding nature in cities and reduce proficiency. l firmly believe that the construction of tall buildings could effectively leads to provide as many as accomodation for residents.

On the one hand, with the development of infrastructure, main capital city of its country is keen to priortize the capacity of seats rather than a building design. This is primarily due to the high efficiency and rising number of residents. For instance, there have enormous migration between countryside and city due to job opportunity, advanced healthcare, and faster transportation, thereby, it is inevitably leads the number of apartments in cities.

On the other hand, with the limited area of land, the apartment blocks is exceptioanal urban planning to satisfy the larger group of individual. To illustrate, the high demand of homes and limited area are largely attributable to construct the tall construction. There is compelling a evidence that urban citiy's apartment fees

is compartively higher than rural's apartment payment, allowing to recognize those phenomenon from every nation.

In conclusion, despite the apparent pros of exquisite design of building in cities to attact more tourist, I certainly believe that tall building presents a far more crucial rationale such as reduction in environmental waste and natural protection of city.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay, stating that tall buildings effectively provide sufficient accommodation for residents. However, the development of ideas is limited by frequent obscurities and grammatical errors. For instance, the argument in the second body paragraph concerning land limitation and apartment fees is somewhat disjointed and lacks precise supporting evidence. While all parts of the task are addressed, the ideas would benefit from deeper elaboration and clearer examples to meet higher band descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a clear overall structure. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are employed to signal transitions, though referencing is sometimes unclear, as seen in phrases like 'those phenomenon'. Paragraphing is used, but the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and confusing sentence structures. Overall, the organization is coherent enough to follow the main argument, but the management of cohesion needs greater precision and flexibility.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but there are numerous lexical and collocational inaccuracies. For example, the writer uses 'convincing' as 'convinced', 'adequate' as 'adequade', and 'accommodation' with spelling slips. Phrases like 'capacity of seats' and 'exceptioanal urban planning' demonstrate an attempt to use less common vocabulary, but improper word choices and spelling errors (e.g., 'priortize', 'attact') are noticeable. While communication is generally maintained, these frequent slips restrict the lexical score to the lower middle range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and word forms, such as 'could effectively leads to provide' and 'thereby, it is inevitably leads the number'. Punctuation and article usage also show persistent inaccuracies that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. While the writer demonstrates some ambition in structuring complex sentences, the frequency of grammatical errors prevents the response from achieving a higher band score.
