Student answer (Band 5.5)
The appropriate method is to provide enough houses in big cities to build tall apartment blocks. I completely agree with this statement because constructing high-rise buildings can accommodate more people while reducing congestion and pressure on the city's infrastructure.
The primary reason for building tall apartment blocks is to provide accommodation for more families while reducing pressure on limited urban land. In large cities there are many people living there and outsiders also coming to explore opportunities if we build many homes then it will be congested and streets will be narrow. The recent study shows that building many homes is not fulfil the peoples living acccomdation because mostly home is consist of four members it totally varies. also to accomodate every people in large cities is difficult so better to build apartments so it looks well designed.
Furthermore, building tall apartment blocks can help cities use their land more efficiently and maintain better urban infrastructure When houses are spread across large areas, cities may need to construct more roads, electricity networks and other facilities, which can put additional pressure on existing infrastructure. For example, if we build tall apartment blocks then the city would be clean and well- design and it will be easy to accomodate to the outsiders and local people who visit the city for every perspective like vaccation, jobs opportunites, buisness.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to accommodate growing populations in large cities. High-rise buildings can provide housing for more people while making better use of limited land and reducing pressure on urban infrastructure.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and takes a clear, consistent position in full agreement with the prompt. The writer introduces relevant supporting ideas, such as maximizing land efficiency and reducing pressure on urban infrastructure. However, the development of these ideas is occasionally limited and hindered by confusing phrasing, particularly in the second paragraph where sentences like 'the recent study shows that building many homes is not fulfil the peoples living acccomdation' lack clarity and logical extension. While the main stance is clear throughout, the support remains somewhat underdeveloped and repetitive, which prevents the essay from reaching higher band thresholds. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of argumentation aligns with a Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a distinct concluding summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as land efficiency versus infrastructure pressure. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Furthermore' are used, but internal sentence linking frequently breaks down due to missing punctuation or run-on structures, such as in the third paragraph: '...infrastructure When houses are spread...'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as ambiguous pronoun use ('it will be easy to accomodate to the outsiders'). Progression is present, but mechanical flaws limit the score to a Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms like 'high-rise buildings', 'urban infrastructure', and 'accommodate growing populations'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'acccomdation', 'accomodate', 'buisness', and 'vaccation'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary often result in awkward collocations or incorrect forms, such as 'for every perspective'. Although communication is generally maintained and the vocabulary is minimally sufficient to convey the core arguments, the frequency of lexical errors places this performance firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt at structures like conditional or relative clauses ('if we build tall apartment blocks then the city would be clean'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement ('home is consist'), missing articles, and run-on sentences lacking appropriate punctuation. Punctuation errors are especially noticeable at the end of sentences and clauses, sometimes obscuring the intended meaning. While some error-free clauses do exist, the high frequency of structural and mechanical mistakes means the writing does not consistently achieve error-free complex sentences, meriting a Band 5.0.
