Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is considerable that tall buildings are highly popular to live in the metro cities.

Designing a home is a task nowadays. I personally believe that living in an apartment is a better option.

The first and foremost point is multiply people live in same apartment. In contrast, in house only one family have enough area to live. For instance, cities like Delhi, Bombay and Pune there is a task to buy a property due to high prices of land. So, people thinks to live in apartment which is convenient to buy as well as for living. Secondly, living in a apartment have beneficial for people who live ideally single they have chance to meet up new people around. Consequence, people do not feel home sickness while living in a apartment.

Moreover, people move to developed cities for their work. Since they leave their home due to their work space. Building a new home is not a cup of tea, therefore, it needs ample of money. Apartment is a better choice to live. In a recent survey indicates that, the most of the people who live in large buildings are come from narrow town, here they come to urban cities for their work or study. Hence, the cost of living in apartment is affordable as well as appropriate.

As a result, large cities have not enough area for building a house. People like to live in a building rather than buying a house. It is often reliable to live in a apartment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide homes in large cities. You present a clear personal position stating that living in an apartment is a better option, supporting your view with points related to population density, property prices, affordability, and social connection for newcomers to urban areas. However, the ideas lack full development and tend to be repetitive. For instance, the discussion on high land prices and affordability is touched upon across multiple paragraphs without deep elaboration or specific evidence beyond brief mentions of cities like Delhi, Bombay, and Pune. Consequently, the response fits the Band 5 level because the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, addressing the task partially with generalizations rather than fully extended arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some overall organization into introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. While basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'Moreover' are used to sequence points, referencing and sentence-to-sentence links are often unclear or confusing. For example, the sentence 'Consequence, people do not feel home sickness while living in a apartment' uses an incorrect grammatical form instead of a proper transitional phrase. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow within paragraphs lacks smooth connections, resulting in disjointed reasoning. Overall, these cohesion and referencing issues correspond to a Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for discussing urban housing. You use basic vocabulary such as 'big cities', 'home', and 'money', alongside repeated attempts at less common words that contain noticeable inaccuracies and unnatural collocations. Examples include 'multiply people live in same apartment' instead of 'multiple people live in the same apartment', 'narrow town' instead of 'small town', and 'ample of money' instead of 'an ample amount of money' or 'a significant amount of capital'. Furthermore, spelling and word-form errors, such as 'home sickness' and 'metro cities' used inappropriately, cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is restricted, relying heavily on simple and repetitive sentence structures with frequent errors. While there are a few correct simple sentences, attempts at complex structures frequently result in faulty grammar, incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Notable errors include 'It is considerable that tall buildings are highly popular', 'people thinks to live', 'living in a apartment have beneficial', and 'In a recent survey indicates that, the most of the people... are come'. Punctuation and subject-verb agreement errors are frequent throughout the text, directly impeding clarity at times and aligning the grammar score securely at Band 5.
