Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, requirements of house have significantly increased due to population. The only way to provide enough homes is metro cities is to construct skyscrapers and apartments blocks. I strongly agree with this notion because increase of population ratio.
My inclination and detailed explanation will be discussed in the forthcoming paragraphs with valid examples.
To commence with, construction of large building is predominantly important for big cities to give enough homes to every family, there is no other way to provide homes. The first and foremost reason is land availability, to explain further, in big cities there are so many facilities available such as markets, public transportation, and industries. so all the land already used for different aspects. For example, in Delhi city there are several facilities and business developed so if someone wants to purchase 300 sqm area they will not buy the plot for construction dye to population. Therefore, every builders should develop city vertically to offer more homes.
Furthermore, If government of teh perticular city development their area vertically instead of horizontally, Is result in they will get more benefits such as tax, popularity and population also improves country economy. Moreover, citizens also get benefits such as good environment and employment and business opportunities. For instance, if someone living in the Mumbai in apartments tehy will get work and business opportunities alos can get chance to work in bollywood if tehy ahve skills. Therefore, i believe taht government ought to develop their city vertically instead of horizontally.
In contrast, developing high-rise buildings is have few demerits, such as risk of natural disaster and environmental problems. To be precise, when construction of skyscrapers is particular city make thair citizens life in a risk of flood and earthquakes.
To recapitulate, although development of the city has few demerits for environment and risk of disasters, I strongly agree that developing vertical city has more advantages for people as well as government.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of building tall apartment blocks, providing reasons related to land scarcity and urban facilities. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding land availability in cities like Delhi is supported with a generalized example, but the reasoning remains basic. The conclusion reiterates the stance, but overall, the task is addressed adequately at a Band 5.5 to 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, a counterargument, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In contrast' are used to structure the text, although some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Logical progression is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and referencing issues, such as in the third paragraph where sentence boundaries become blurred. Paragraphing is used appropriately overall.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items such as 'predominantly important', 'infrastructure', and 'skyscrapers'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'metro cities' instead of 'metropolitan cities', 'dye' instead of 'due', 'teh perticular' (the particular), and 'tehy' (they). These errors do not completely impede communication, placing the response firmly at a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is weak throughout. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions, such as 'requirements of house have significantly', 'every builders should', and 'developing high-rise buildings is have few demerits'. Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, such as lowercase 'i' and missing commas. These errors can cause some difficulty for the reader.
