Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is argued that tall apartments blocks in big cities are effictive way to facilities the residents with home. I largly agreed with this because through this, infrastructure can be mentained and low-income individuals can also have their own property.

The biggest improvement can be seen in the infrasture of large cities by tall building apartments. Government can provide huge number of residents living in tall apartments blocks with all necessary facilities. For instance, local authorities can check and balance also mentain with basic needs like water suppliers, parks, schools, heathcare centre, social centres and transport system. Consequently, large number of people can utilize it.

In many under development countries the large number of society consisted on low-income families. They can not effort to own a house. Land property prices are so high in demand. These apartment scheme offered affortable and sometime with low depit lowns made it relief for low class families. Therefore, they can have their own house and feel secure.

In conculsion, tall apartments in big cities was a good approch. I strongly agreed that this can help to mentain better infrasture by giving a large number of individuals basic and nessary facilities. Authorities can easily tackle. Financial crisis faced by low budget families can have their own house because land property is high in cost and tall apartments are quit reasonable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities and supports this with ideas regarding infrastructure maintenance and housing for low-income families. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack full development. Furthermore, the response suffers from a significant penalty because the length requirement is NOT met, containing only 225 words compared to the minimum 250-word requirement. This severely impacts the overall task achievement and prevents the score from reaching higher bands. While the main arguments are identifiable, the lack of sufficient word count and under-developed expansion mean it aligns closest with a Band 5.0 descriptor for failing to fully satisfy the length and development criteria.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a conventional essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical cohesive devices. For instance, transitional phrases like 'In conculsion' and 'Consequently' are used, but referencing is often unclear (e.g., 'consequently, large number of people can utilize it' where the antecedent is ambiguous). Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is faulty at times, leading to a choppy reading experience. This performance is consistent with the Band 5.0 descriptors, which note some organization but lack of clear overall progression and inadequate or mechanical cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts to use some less common vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'infrastructure', 'authorities', and 'financial crisis'. However, the vocabulary is heavily impacted by frequent spelling mistakes and word-choice errors, such as 'effictive' instead of effective, 'mentained' instead of maintained, 'affortable' instead of affordable, and 'depit lowns' instead of debt loans. These lexical errors and awkward collocations cause noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader. Although the range is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas, the high density of errors places the lexical resource at a Band 4.5, which rounds to a Band 5.0 based on standard IELTS reporting, though strictly representing limited control and frequent slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic complex forms that are often flawed. There are frequent and systematic grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('tall building apartments', 'large number of society consisted'), incorrect verb tenses ('tall apartments in big cities was a good approch'), and missing articles. For example, 'Government can provide huge number of residents' lacks necessary determiners. These numerous errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and distort meaning at times. Because complex sentences are often faulty and errors are persistent, the writing aligns well with the Band 5.0 descriptors for grammar.
