Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's fast paced world, everyone wants beautiful house with modern and elegant look. The best and reliable source for this extra ordinary work is to build big apartment blocks but only in large cities, but some people like to live in town area with talking neighbors.
Building apartment blocks is a good development to provide beautiful homes in large cities because people will come out from noisy town area to a calm place to live and with this development they will gain many facilities like restaurants will be available in apartment building and also you will be able do gym also and also room cleaning service on very cheap charges. The cost for a home in apartment will depend on people that how much rooms they want in their house but very affordable. Foe example, from my personal experience one of my closet friend is recently moved to a beautiful apartment block with his family and he finds very peaceful there and he is very happy to move there. So in my opinion apartment buildings are the best way to provide enough homes in larger cities
Most of the people don't want to leave their birthplace, so they don't like apartment buildings because they want to live in open area and with kind neighborhood. They think big societies should be build instead of apartment blocks For example, from my own experience my parents want a house in society and I want to move in apartment.
To conclude, I would completely agree that, the best way to give people homes with modern and elegant look is building tall apartments blocks in larger cities

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best solution for housing in large cities, providing a personal stance and some supporting ideas. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the arguments regarding facilities in apartment buildings, such as gyms and room cleaning services, are basic and touch upon lifestyle aspects rather than robust urban planning considerations. The counter-argument acknowledging people who prefer traditional neighborhoods is briefly mentioned but lacks deeper exploration. The position is generally clear throughout the essay, but the overall depth aligns best with Band 5 descriptors where ideas remain somewhat restricted and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at structural organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression of ideas lacks clear logical flow. Sentences often run together with repetitive use of conjunctions like "and also," creating a mechanical and disjointed reading experience. Paragraphing is present, but the third body paragraph is extremely short and awkwardly separated from the main discussion. Furthermore, referencing and cohesive devices are inadequate and sometimes confusing, reflecting the characteristics of Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on everyday words and phrases such as "beautiful house," "nice place," and "big societies." There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as writing "in town area" instead of "in town areas" or "closet friend" instead of "close friend." While the language is minimally adequate to convey basic meaning, the limited range and frequent inaccuracies constrain the lexical score to a Band 5 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical errors involving articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as "everyone wants beautiful house," "societies should be build," and run-on sentences like "The cost for a home in apartment will depend on people that how much rooms they want in their house but very affordable." These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect typical Band 5 performance.
