Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages of tall apartment blocks, such as environmental preservation and protecting farming land, and disadvantages, primarily concerning individual safety during high winds or earthquakes. A clear position is stated in the introduction: 'i am partely agree with tis view.' However, the ideas are underdeveloped and the arguments lack depth and sophisticated elaboration. The response attempts to cover both sides of the argument and meets the task requirements by maintaining a relevant discussion throughout. While the ideas remain somewhat general and repetitive, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into four distinct paragraphs, attempting an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is heavily hindered by poor referencing, erratic punctuation, and frequent cohesive failures. The student uses basic transitional markers such as 'to begine with', 'Moving ahed', and 'to conclude', but these are often misspelled or mechanically applied. Paragraphing is present, but logical transitions within paragraphs are weak, causing the reader to struggle to follow the flow of arguments. The lack of accurate cohesive devices and confusing referencing patterns align with a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The student uses a very limited and repetitive range of vocabulary. Words related to the topic, such as 'apartement', 'bulding', and 'saftey', are misspelled repeatedly throughout the text. There are also frequent word-choice errors, such as 'cultivation land' instead of 'agricultural land', and 'balance inhabitate area' which impedes clear understanding. While the student attempts less common items like 'environmental' and 'earthquick', the high frequency of spelling errors and inaccurate lexical choices put the writing firmly at a Band 4.0 level, where basic vocabulary and systematic errors strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. The text is dominated by severe sentence structure errors, missing articles, incorrect verb forms, and pervasive punctuation mistakes, such as 'This argument by the best way to provide enough home in masive cities is build tall apartement.' Simple sentences frequently contain basic structural flaws, and any attempts at complex structures result in completely broken syntax, such as 'if person but the top floor of the bulding he has want muoch time fir visit the home.' There are very few error-free sentences, warranting a Band 4.0.
