Student answer (Band 5.0)

In todays world, population is increases day by day. So we need to build more homes and shelters for their survival. I agree with this statement. Below I will give some examples and reason that support my opinion.

First of all, the figure of individuals increase every day and the land uses for their shelters and other facilities such as Building hospitals, schools, shoppings malls and factories. These are basic needs of society. After completing such buildings remaining area is not enough to build single houses for every single family.

The reason is that, people wants to stay near the place where all kinds of opportunities will available like they want hospital by a stone throwing place. Due to people think that building tall buildings with numreous apartments blocks is the better way to stay connected with all facilities.

There is no doubt that it has advantages but it has some risks as well. For example construction work like infrastructure if the construction material not using in a fine quantity and quality. It would be harmful for public.

Nevertheless, by seeing nowdays condition i will say that building a huge structures in a big city can be helpful for everyday's requirements and just say that government should also take part in this matter. Before using anything engineers should have to get perment. Reason behind this buildings tall structures are important but the other thing that also valuable is public safety.

Conclusion is that, it is the crucial way to provide enough homes that aquires the people's need by making new infrastructures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the task by stating a clear position of agreement regarding tall apartment blocks. The response covers basic reasons such as space limitations, population growth, and access to urban facilities like hospitals and schools. However, the development of ideas remains quite limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on safety and infrastructure is brief and lacks sufficient expansion or specific examples. While the prompt is addressed and a position is maintained throughout, the ideas are under-developed, placing this performance in the Band 5 category.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding remark. Basic cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'First of all' and 'Nevertheless', but their usage is often mechanical and sometimes awkward, as seen in phrases like 'Conclusion is that'. Paragraphing is present, but logical progression from one idea to the next is frequently disjointed. Referencing can be unclear, such as pronoun use in 'for their survival' and 'Due to people think'. Overall, the organization shows some structure, but cohesion is inadequate and repetitive, aligning with Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited range of vocabulary adequate for communicating basic ideas, such as 'population', 'survival', 'facilities', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are numerous inappropriate word choices, word formation errors, and collocation slips, such as 'land uses' instead of 'land used', 'shoppings malls' instead of 'shopping malls', 'by a stone throwing place' instead of 'a stone's throw away', and 'perment' instead of 'permission'. These noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response shows a very limited range of structures, with frequent basic grammatical errors. Simple sentences predominate, and attempts at complex structures are generally faulty, such as in 'Due to people think that building tall buildings with numreous apartments blocks is the better way...' and 'if the construction material not using in a fine quantity and quality.' Errors occur in tense usage, subject-verb agreement ('population is increases', 'figure of individuals increase'), and missing verbs. These frequent errors cause strain for the reader and correspond to the Band 4 descriptor, though occasional correctly formed simple sentences push the overall control slightly into Band 4.5, rounded to Band 4.
