Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a good thing to build tall apartment block in big cities because in large cities there is to much population and space becoming thinner day by day for living.Tall buildings take less area .
These types of apartment are good for small families like nuclear one.In these apartments there are 24 hours security avalible and constructed according to modern era.People who is extroverts enjoy alot living in theses type of places. All facilities are avalible inside these buildings like swimming pools Gyms and parking area.
People live in these buildings have a vast social circle because the entrance and exit are same for everyone. No out siders are allowed with out their id cards or entery.
In these apartments there is no privacy even if you are cooking something people living close to your apartment smell it and they know what you cook today. If any guest come to your home everyone knows and all voices come out if apatment is not soundproof. In theses apartments we are not allowed to do any cermoney without taking permission or any permit from their office.
In these tall buiding there are elevators because they have many floor and there is a high rate difference for different floor and if you buy apartment on upper floor you have to wait for lift because there is no choice using 1000 of stairs.
I do not agree with this statement because for me privacy is everything ang in these building there is zero privacy and we have to follow many rules.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and takes a clear position disagreeing with the statement by the end of the essay, although the thesis is revealed very late. Some ideas are presented, such as the advantages of security and facilities versus the disadvantages of a lack of privacy and strict rules. However, the development of these ideas is relatively simple and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the discussion on privacy touches upon cooking smells and guests, but remains somewhat underdeveloped. While the task is addressed and a position is maintained, the support lacks full extension and depth across all points, aligning best with Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors. We award a Band 6.0 as the main parts of the prompt are covered with relevant, albeit basic, ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization, transitioning from perceived advantages of tall buildings to disadvantages, concluding with a clear stance. However, paragraphing is poorly handled; the entire body of the essay is clustered into overly dense or misplaced paragraphs, and sentences like 'Tall buildings take less area' stand isolated. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or mechanically used, such as 'In these apartments' or 'In these tall buiding'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between ideas is choppy. These features reflect Band 5.0, where organization is present but overall progression is hindered by inadequate or repetitive cohesive devices and weak paragraphing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it is limited and repetitive. Throughout the text, the student frequently reuses simple terms and phrases such as 'tall apartment block', 'big cities', and 'In these apartments'. There are also noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'space becoming thinner', 'avalible', 'extroverts enjoy alot', 'out siders', 'entery', and 'cermoney'. While the intended meaning usually gets across despite spelling and collocation errors, the range is restricted and errors prevent the score from reaching a higher band, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('People who is extroverts', 'apatment is not soundproof', 'there is many floor'), missing articles ('on upper floor'), and incorrect prepositions or pluralisation ('with out their id cards or entery'). Punctuation is also erratic, with missing spaces after commas and periods. Because these errors occur frequently and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the writing fits the Band 5.0 profile for grammatical range and accuracy.
