Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's time, quite a few people believe that, build tall apartment blocks in large cites, is the better concept to provide enough houses. I completely agree with this statement.
One of the most convincing reasons behind my agreement is that many people want to live in enough space and cheap price. it is affordable for many people such as students, low income family and some employees. For example, many students leave their home for study purpose, they need to small piece of land for living affordably. It is helps people to remain financialy stable. Moreover, tall apartment blocks can provide homes for many people on a small piece of lands. It is the best solution to save lands. If lands is saves, government can build a lot of facilities for people, such as hospitals, schools, and parks for children.
Not only this, if tall apartment build in a large cities, they do not need to spread into nearby villages and farmland. Consequntely, it can protect agriculture lands and natural areas.Furthermore, it can be easier to provide public services. If many people live in one area government can provide watter facility, electricity, and public transport. For instance, a metro station can serve thousand of residents, who living in nearby apartment buildings.
On the other hand, many high rise apartments has limited outdoor space and less privacy. Children may have space area to play. Nevertheless, from my perspective, if people live in one area, so government can provide all the facilities, like parks, transport system, electricitiy, and also school.
To conclude, I strongly agree with the statement that tall apartment is the best way to provide homes, because it is affordable for low income families and students, and it also helps in save lands for agriculture. Not only because, it can protect agriculture lands, and it can be easier for givernment to provide public services.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the statement and providing relevant arguments such as affordability, space-saving, and the protection of agricultural land and natural areas. The ideas are supported with examples, such as students and low-income families needing affordable living, and the provision of public services like metro stations. However, some arguments lack deep extension, and the conclusion contains repetitive phrasing. The response adequately covers all parts of the task, meeting the criteria for Band 6.5, which is rounded appropriately.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different points, a counterargument paragraph, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand'. However, the referencing and linking are at times mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only this, if tall apartment build in a large cities'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, providing a coherent overall arrangement that fits the Band 6 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'financialy stable', 'agriculture lands', and 'public services'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'build' instead of 'building', 'cites' instead of 'cities', 'watter' instead of 'water', and 'space area' instead of 'playing space'. These errors do not impede communication, placing the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ('If lands is saves, government can build...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('if tall apartment build', 'lands is saves', 'thousands of residents, who living'), article omissions, and preposition mistakes. While the meaning remains mostly clear despite these errors, they prevent the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.5 an accurate assessment.
