Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary world, people are migrated from the rural areas to modern cities in search for better employment opportunities which showed increase in population and there is lack of land in cities as compared to villages. Therefore, government has to take collective measures such as constructing high-rise building to provide space for public where people can live by paying off their rents. I firmly agree with the given view which i shall discuss in the upcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, large cities have limited space because of rapid population. Tall apartment blocks would be a great advantage for the public where they can live without experiencing any kind of hassle it will not only results in helping public but also beneficial for the government as less land will be required for constructing such kind of buildings. For instance, A 20 storey building can accomodate hundered of residents on a relatively small spot.

Furthermore, high rise apartments should be built near workplaces, public transports and shopping centres which helps in making person's life convenient as there will be no need to spent alot of time in coomuting for jobs or studies or to buy something. Moreover, it can also provide safety, use of lifts, and recreational areas can be used by majority of people living in apartments it may lead to increase in growth of urban population by investing in various benefiting areas.

Additionally, funding for accomodations can put financial burden on regime as there are many more sectors where there is much need of spending for the overall growtrh of economy. Building needs alot of funds to be built. For example, investing in education can be much beneficial for thr population as it is right of each and every child.

To conclude, after contemplating over a huge accord of thoughts and speculation i came to the decision that although it needs alot of finance, it is good idea as limited space is required to built it and government can earn from the rents by local person.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The candidate addresses all parts of the prompt by stating a clear position of agreement in the introduction and supporting it throughout the essay. Ideas regarding space-saving, proximity to workplaces, and economic considerations are presented. However, some arguments lack full extension and suffer from slight over-generalisation or mild confusion, such as discussing government funding and the economy rather than strictly focusing on urban housing provision. Nevertheless, a clear position is maintained throughout, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement with basic paragraphing used to separate distinct points, such as advantages for residents, convenience of location, and financial aspects. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen with transitional phrases like "To begin with" and "Furthermore." Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences occasionally stumbles due to run-on structures or imprecise linking. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as "contemporary world," "employment opportunities," and "recreational areas." However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the response, such as "accomodate," "hundered," "coomuting," "benefiting," and "growtrh." While these errors do not seriously impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with tense consistency, articles, and prepositions, such as "people are migrated," "regime" used instead of government, and run-on sentences like "...for jobs or studies or to buy something." Punctuation errors are also present, such as comma splices. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
