Student answer (Band 5.5)
Indubitably, the beneficial method to provide enough homes in huge cities is to build tall appartment blocks. I totally agree to this notion and reasons for my inclination will be explained in the subsequent paragraphs.
At the outset, there are numerous reasons of making tall buildings for living in big cities and the first and foremost is that it saves money. To explain it more, in the cities space for living is conjusted and not everyone can afford their own houses because the rate of independent house is too expensive as a result individuals can stay in appartment where many services are provided by building owner and it is budget friendly for low income society. For example, in Dubai the price for houses are too expensive as a result people can prefer purchasing flats rather then houses and that is cheaper then that.
Moving further there are another significant factors and the preponderant one is buildings take less space with high capacity of people. To be more precise, in houses only one or two families are live, whereas in tall buildings there are 20 to 50 families can stay even in same size of house this save to much space and useful in making some hospitals, schools and many more things which are necessary for growing world. For instance, schools play a crucial role in student life even though hospitals are also very important for good health care this aid to boost economic growth.
To recapitulate, although making tall buildings in cities play a crucial role such as it aid in saving money as well as budget friendly and space which help to boost economic growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities. The writer supports this position with relevant ideas regarding financial savings and efficient space utilization for public amenities such as schools and hospitals. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, with over-generalizations regarding living costs in cities like Dubai. The conclusion is also quite brief and merely restates the main points without adding further synthesis. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to logically sequence ideas using transition markers such as 'At the outset' and 'Moving further'. However, paragraphing and cohesive devices are somewhat mechanical and faulty. For instance, the conclusion is bundled into a single run-on sentence that lacks proper punctuation and closure. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun usage in sentences like 'this save to much space and useful'. While the progression of ideas is discernible, the lack of sophisticated cohesive management prevents the essay from reaching a higher band, making Band 6.0 an appropriate score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'preponderant', 'indubitably', and 'subsequent', which shows some ambition. However, there are numerous noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors throughout the text, including 'appartment', 'conjusted', 'rate of independent house', and 'there are another significant factors'. Spelling mistakes like 'conjusted' (congested) and repeated typos in 'appartment' detract from the quality. While the vocabulary is adequate to convey the basic message and satisfies the requirements for a Band 5.5, the frequency of lexical inaccuracies prevents it from achieving a solid Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('families are live', 'there are 20 to 50 families can stay'), missing prepositions, and run-on sentences ('For example, in Dubai the price for houses are too expensive as a result people can prefer purchasing flats...'). Punctuation is also weak, particularly in the concluding paragraph, which lacks a full stop. These errors occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, though they do not completely impede overall communication, aligning with the Band 5.5 descriptors.
