Student answer (Band 5.0)
I agree with this statement that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to built tall apartments. As It has a lot of benefits like first of all it results in conservation of land like with building tall appartments we can have a lot of homes in a small land. As we can see now a days, forests and trees are being cut to build more and more housesby doing this a lot of land for greenary is can be conserved also it is economically budget friendly. Threre is also the advantage of some common services like GYM, playgrounds, indoor games etc, good neibourhood.
Somehow i also disagree with this statement because building tall appartments results in high casts like construction, repairing, managing etc. There are also some safty risks like fire hazard. there is crowding which result in pollution, noice and these type of things.
Now In my experience, as i am from a village and there are separate homes at a little distance, There is more privacy , fresh air, light greenary. But i am now living in big city and there are a tall appartments but i also enjoy these, as there are facilities, like gym, sanitary, a good neibourhood, advanced schools, colleges

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks, presenting a somewhat balanced personal view. However, there is a significant penalty because the response contains only 209 words, falling well short of the mandatory 250-word minimum requirement. Furthermore, the development of ideas remains quite limited and superficial. For instance, the student mentions points like 'conservation of land' and 'economically budget friendly' but fails to extend or fully support these ideas with detailed elaboration or robust examples. The personal experience section is also brief and lacks depth. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed, leading to a band score of 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks proper paragraphing, as ideas are lumped together into a few dense blocks of text rather than being structured into a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes awkward, such as 'Somehow i also disagree' and 'Now In my experience'. While there is a basic progression moving from advantages to disadvantages and finally to personal experience, the overall organizational structure is faulty and lacks clear cohesive links between sentences. Referencing can also be unclear. This level of organization reflects the descriptors for Band 5, where some logical flow is present, but overall progression and paragraphing are poorly managed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited range of vocabulary, relying heavily on basic and repetitive terms such as 'homes', 'big city', and 'tall apartments'. There are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'built' instead of 'build', 'appartments', 'greenary', 'budget friendly', 'casts' instead of 'costs', 'safty', 'noice', and 'neibourhood'. Less common lexical items are attempted but usually contain errors in spelling, collocation, or form. Although the meaning can generally be understood, the frequent vocabulary errors and restricted range place this performance firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple and repetitive coordinate clauses joined by conjunctions like 'and' or 'As'. When the student attempts more complex structures, they are often faulty or punctuated incorrectly, such as run-on sentences ('As It has a lot of benefits like first of all it results in conservation of land like with building tall appartments we can have a lot of homes in a small land'). Grammatical errors are frequent, including missing articles, incorrect verb forms ('is can be conserved'), and punctuation lapses. These persistent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5 grammatical performance.
